The Top 5 steps to avoid negative thinking

1. Start with incantations, say to yourself 100 times a day " I love and approve of myself".
2. Whenever you look at yourself in a mirror, smile and say to yourself " I look fabulous and I'm a great person".
3. When you wake and before you go to sleep, give thanks and think about all the great things you have in your life, family, friends, job and think of special moments and people in your life that have made you feel glad to be alive, thank God, etc for giving you this opportunity to love and be loved. Most times people focus on all the negatives things in their life instead of the positive, that's why you end up feeling down and de-motivated. Change your thought patterns.
4. Whenever you feel angry or agitated due someone or something, before you go mad, shout out and lose your temper, count to ten and smile. You will find that in most cases by the time you have counted to 10 you will feel more content with the situation and not feel so negative about it.
5. Take regular excercise at least 15 minutes a day, either walking, cycling or running.
Always have fun and keep smiling.
Regards, PJ

Re: What to avoid when cold calling? Re: What to avoid when cold calling? - Thanks! How about this word: Don’t Any negative word when describing your product or service is a definite no. You want to list the positive attributes – not the negative. So instead of thinking about what you don’t do, can’t offer, or won’t provide, think about what you do, can and will.
Re: Don’t worry, Enrich your life and Be happy Re: Don’t worry, Enrich your life and Be happy -
I am a born pessimist. Can I do something to change my negative thoughts into positive ones? I try very hard not to engage in negative feelings. However hard I may try, I end up with the most antagonistic mental state. This has harmed me in many ways. I really wish I could think better![/quote:2b2448ak] Hi Christopher First of all welcome to the forum, I am sure that you will enjoy being here and will learn a lot. As far as always feeling negative, I would suggest that first of all, stop continuously telling yourself that you are negative. By doing that you are actually affirming it and your subconscious mind will endorse it. The subconscious mind believes whatever you keep telling it. Try some positive affirmations. Say them out loud or to yourself as often as you can (even if in the beginning you don't believe it) and whenever you find yourself thinking negatively, stop and repeat some of the positive affirmations. Don't expect miracles, it is not an overnight process, but over time you will find your mindset changing for the better. Hope this helps MichelleJ

Re: Don’t worry, Enrich your life and Be happy Re: Don’t worry, Enrich your life and Be happy -
Start saying positive things especially about yourself. How you communicate to yourself affects your thinking and your emotions, as well as your self-esteem.Change your mental pictures. What and how you see yourself and your surroundings make a difference to your thinking.Read more. Read about how those people who fought fear with courage and succeeded in life. Through reading, you will gain new knowledge and understanding and it will help you clear whatever is blocking your thinking and create more ideas. [/quote:1rc4ik2q] Lisa is right about this. Positive self talk can really make a difference. When you catch yourself saying something negative (whether verbally or just thinking it), turn it around and make it into the opposite. You have to remember to do this continually until it's just habit that the positive thought/saying becomes the first thing you hear instead of the second. It becomes automatic.
Re: What are you doing if o have a bad day? Re: What are you doing if o have a bad day? - Some days I just feel like doing absolutely nothing. It doesn't mean I'm having a bad day or anything, but I just don't feel like doing anything productive towards my business. In fact, mornings are the worse for me. I work much better in the evenings for some reason. If things just didn't seem to go right for me, or I felt that everything I'm doing isn't getting me anywhere, I'll just take a break from it and do something else. Watch TV, work out, play video games, or just call it a night and start fresh in the morning. I do most of my thinking when I'm laying in bed, so the latter option usually works best for me. Bad days are going to happen, so there's no sense in trying to avoid them. I say embrace them! There's always something to learn even through failure. Don't look at it as failing, but learn what to avoid or change in what you're doing to become a success. Thomas Edison is a perfect example of this.
