Many people do not realize the value of choice. Choice is our greatest gift. We can choose our dreams and decide what we want to be, where we want to go, what we want to do, what we want to have, and the way we react to most circumstances. We make choices each day from the moment we wake up to the time we fall asleep. There are the obvious choices: what to eat, what to wear and what to do that day.

There are also the not-so-obvious choices: your thoughts, your attitudes, and your behaviors. These options are also within your full control.

It all begins with the choices in our thoughts. Your whole thought process is within your full control. You can choose to think of things in a positive light or in a negative gloom. You can call the glass half empty or half full.

You can choose to strive for accomplishment or you can worry and expect fear and failure. You can accept that a problem controls you, or you can choose to see yourself in control, and to look for the opportunity hidden behind the circumstance. It's entirely up to you.

You can choose to accept or reject criticism and negativity. You can also choose to accept positive strokes or reject them. You can also have control over your thoughts. Your thoughts control your destiny. Your choice to control or not control your thoughts will make the difference in your attitude and behavior.

Your thoughts are influenced by many factors. You were conditioned by your parents, your school education, your family and your friends. Now as an adult, your environment still conditions you; but if you take the time, you should be able to distinguish and choose between good and bad or truth and fiction.

We are all products of our environment and we must be aware of how that has affected our thought process. We have to make choices about our thoughts in order to take control of them.

Thought and character work as one. Our character can only manifest itself and be discovered depending on the environment and circumstance. The outer conditions of a person's life will always be found to be harmoniously related to his/her inner state. Everyone is where they are by the law of their being; the thoughts which they have built into their character have brought them there, and in the arrangement of life there is no element of chance.

A person is literally what they think, and their character being the complete sum of all of their thoughts. So, choose your thoughts wisely.

I remember when I became aware of my right to choose. That awareness made a big difference in me. I started to look at things differently and to consider the available options. I realized that I could do anything I chose to, as long as I was aware and in control of my self-talk, my thoughts and my actions.

You have so many choices to make in life. I encourage you to be aware of the choices in your thought process, from where it all begins.

A desire is a thought. It is followed by choices which will lead you to a decision. Conversely, indecision leads to doubt and that particular combination produces a paralyzing fear.

Consider your choices and commit to your choice. Then, it is up to you to make that choice work.

It's your life and you decide how you live it. Your desires and aspirations or your limitations and fears are all your choice.

As human beings, we are endowed with freedom of choice and we cannot shuffle off our responsibility upon the shoulders of God or nature. We must shoulder it ourselves. It is up to us.
