Communicators Are Millionaires

Guest post by: Kirk Heiner

Article Overview: The best communicators in nearly every area receive the highest financial rewards. Years ago I received one of the best pieces of advice I've ever heard. It was the idea that "Our income will be in direct proportion to our level of communication". Learning how to communicate well enhances our lives in ways we can not even imagine. Upgrade your communication and elevate your income.

Communicators Are Millionaires

Communicators are Millionaires

Over two decades ago I was being coached by a man who many in Hollywood believe to be America’s number one acting coach. He sat me down, looked me in the eye and said, “Kirk, your level of income will be in direct proportion to your communication”.

It’s taken me over twenty years to fully understand how true those words actually were. It wasn’t that I didn’t hear him, I took notice, but I didn’t understand the impact it could have upon my life and my success.

I now know this to be a life-altering truth; communicators are millionaires, or at the very least millionaires in the making.

Brilliant communicators, those who not only communicate well but en mass will become wealthy. Those who understand and apply the essentials of good communication have a distinct advantage over those who don’t. They capture our attention. Doors seem to open easier and more frequently. Opportunities and promotions fall effortlessly into their lap, because people are drawn to those who speak well and communicate with crystal clarity.

The sad reality is that most of us never learned the art of great communication. We were taught the words, their meaning, correct spelling and punctuation; But that is not the essence of communication. In fact, studies show that only 7% of interpersonal communication depends on the words we use. Over 93% of what people receive in conversation comes from factors other than the words we use, such as tone of voice, facial gestures, body language and much more. These critically important areas of communication are not being taught in schools.

In America, most people communicate poorly. It’s not completely our fault. Our teachers and parents didn’t fare much better than we did. After all, they were taught in the same system we were, only earlier. It’s a bit hard to teach something you don’t really understand yourself.

The great news is anyone can become a better communicator. With understanding and application you can be an excellent communicator and enjoy the benefits that come with your newly acquired skills; better relationships, increased opportunities, higher income and all in all a better life.

The root meaning of communication:

“To come together in unity”.

It’s funny that with all the new communication tools available to us; we seem to actually communicate worse than ever before. We’ve lost the art of connecting with one another, which is the essence of communication. Much of it was lost in the information explosion of the past two decades. We have fallen victim to the Information Age. The fallout is that we are now living in an Attention Deficit Society. Clarity is required in communication now more than ever.

By the way, we are no longer living in the Information Age. We passed out of that era over 6 years ago. So what age are we in you may ask. I believe, along with many others in the media that we are in the Age of Communication. Now that’s interesting, and here’s why.

Those who successfully trade in the principle commodity of that era will prosper. Today, that commodity is communication.

There was a time when salt was traded at a higher price than gold. Could you sell salt today at the same market price as gold (over $1300.00 per Oz.)? Probably not, because today’s commodity is no longer salt. Today good communication is worth its weight in gold and great communicators are as rare as blue diamonds.

Anyone who traded in the major commodity of that age experienced prosperity. Andrew Carnegie traded steel during the Age of steel and became the wealthiest man in America; Bill Gates controlled operating systems of 90% of the world’s computers during the Information Age and became the wealthiest man in the World. Commodity brokers that know and understand the key commodity of an age, prosper.

It’s simple, the better we communicate and the more people we communicate with, the greater our reward will be.

Here’s the promise I will make to you; if you make a commitment to improve both the quality and the quantity of your current communication, your life will become richer, your relationships fuller and more rewarding.

Clear communication improves every area of our lives, because it creates connection.

I invite you to begin the journey today of improving your life through effective communication.

While their are many Mastermind groups out there right now, they arent really true to the original philosophy. In its purest form a mastermind group, or inner circle is a group dedicated to one goal, one cause and they all utilize their personal connections and resources to accomplish it. I think if you really wanted to creat a 'next best thing' you need to find people to join your inner circle. STaff, friends, suppliers, mentors anyone that can dedicate some time to working on it, launching it and reaping the benefits. I think doing one online would be great..who else would be interested?
