My 10 Observations of the New AE

I just returned from delivering a New -to- TV AE Training Session. The class of 19 new Account Executives (Marketing Consultants) was eager to learn all about the world of Television and Digital sales. How refreshing to see! My observations:

  1. They are ready to do the work
  2. They understand they must build their personal reputation
  3. Eager to solve customer problems
  4. Excited to learn about advertisers’ businesses
  5. Able to clearly see benefits of integrating media
  6. Not “hung up” on old ways of doing things
  7. Willing to form relationships
  8. Energized by developing ideas
  9. See value in “relentless curiosity”
  10. They Focus on CUSTOMER Success
Does Broadcast have a future? With people like these entering our business – you bet!

TV Station Sales Managers – treasure and nurture them! They are your future. What other traits would you like to see?
