Today's "rant" - anti social marketing

Guest post by: Margie Albert

Article Overview: What are you doing with all those likes you’ve purchased? All those likes are nothing more than ego chest pumping (“I have more likes than you do – na na na”) if you aren’t moving them up your product relationship chain to becoming loyalists. How many of your likes have you been able to convert into loyalists? How many of your likes do you see returning to your facebook page? How many are you interacting with? How many are you listening to and communicating with? How has your own site traffic and ratings grown? After all, don’t you want them to like you and your products so you can monetize these relationships?

Today's "rant" - anti social marketing

Would you walk up to someone and randomly say, “We don’t know each other but if you promise to like me you might win an iPad? Please please like me. Yes, I’m bribing you to like me. I don’t promise anything other than a small chance to win an iPad but please like me. Oh, and tell your friends to like me too, OK?”

I see these posts on facebook and twitter every day from TV stations all over the country. How anti-social can you be? Meaningful, long term, loyal relationships are earned, not bought. For a TV station to earn loyalty they must first be giving and a small chance to win an iPad is not it.

What do we all want in a relationship? We want the ability to talk and to be listened to, we want our needs satisfied, we want to be educated and/or entertained and we want to be missed when we aren’t there.

What are you doing with all those likes you’ve purchased? All those likes are nothing more than ego chest pumping (“I have more likes than you do – na na na”) if you aren’t moving them up your product relationship chain to becoming loyalists.

Your answers will tell you if you are truly social marketing and building valuable relationships or anti-social marketing and spinning your very expensive resource wheels.

anti virus programs anti virus programs - Hey Beat- Some anti virus programs won't run well with other anti virus programs so obtaining too many may not work, so you may want to settle on one good one. My computer guy recommended a free download called AVG virus scan and he told me to use it in conjuction with another free download by Lavasoft called Adaware...it was good too, both kept my computer safe for a whole year before I finally hooked up with my internet service provider (who provides MacAfee free with their paid services). I just got a computer that came with Norton. All three are good anti-virus programs but if you want to overprotect your computer, you may need to first find out if each is compatable with the other.
Re: Twitter, Social Networking: What's Your method? Re: Twitter, Social Networking: What's Your method? - The bottom line: You can have thousands of friends, and it takes only a second to add one, if you don't make conversation with them, it is a useless tool, like all social media sites. I know many people who concentrate mainly on social media marketing, and they make money, but it takes time. Personally, I rather skip social media and focus on other stuff, like article marketing, and I use social media only for fun and communicate with best friends.
