A passion for what they do, and a willingness to share it despite the "risks."
I am not talking about the boastful escapades of someoneone seeking attention, but of an honorable belief in who and what they are, and a willingness to take risks and be vulnerable.
Anytime you move from the periphery of true interaction to honest engagement and the sharing of ideas, thoughts etc. there is a risk of rejection. And I believe that it is this fear which neutralizes most people.
What is interesting is that no matter what station in life you may attain, all of us have and do to varying degrees feel this way at one time or another.
If you recognize and acknowledge this feeling, it provides you with that perfect balance of empathy, "healthy" fear otherwise known as humility and the courage to step up to the plate to make a difference.
In essence, it shifts the focus from you and how you feel, to what you have to contribute to a collective good of others.
In business, this "attitude of service" is essential to sustainable success.
