Artificial Intelligence Business Systems
Lets be honest, I am not an expert in artificial intelligence, but I find the topic to be fascinating.
Why? Because there’s a future that I want to share with you. This is a future of an integrated global culture where there is a place for every human being to live, grow, contribute and make a difference. One of the fundamental building blocks of cultures are organizations and how they express themselves in that particular culture. In essence, when two or more people get together an organization is born.
As you already know organizations take many forms. One of the many expressions of organizations, and the format that a lot of people are interested in, is the format of business. Other formats of organizations are families, churches, schools, universities - the list goes on and on. While each has received their fair share of study and attention the area that I am interested in exploring is the area of business.
Business, as a whole and complete entity, begins when its promise cannot be accomplished by an individual alone. In other words, if you have a promise that you can fulfill by yourself business is not required. And, like anything that has stability, business operates on a solid foundation by integrating with the community it serves and generating trust as it continuously adds value to a group of people. The foundation of business is providing what’s needed and wanted.
A simple way to see if you have businesses operating in your town, city or area is to check by asking if the people in your life (including yourself) have what’s wanted and needed at all times. In my experience I have found that is not the case - it is not even close.
Which begs the question: if businesses are not providing what’s needed and wanted what are they doing? Are they even businesses by this definition?
Again, you will discover something very interesting. What is out there are conditioning mechanisms and various forms of art and systematized art forms. Some of these entities are multi-billion dollar enterprises with global constituencies. As this is a huge topic I will write more on this later but, for now, I want to go back to the future of business as emerging artificial technologies come into the forefront of our accelerating civilization.
I suspect people find business to be a fascinating topic because we live in a capitalist system. The Latin word capital means head - so with capitalism you can “use your head to get ahead.” The promise of this system has propelled the human civilization in the twentieth century to never before seen levels of industry, infrastructure, information technology and knowledge base that culminated with the launch of the Web over 6000 days ago. For the first time we can go beyond the Roman Civilization because our administration is built on an information technology infrastructure and our “heads” are not required for many activities. We can literally tune out and the world will still run on auto-pilot. All physical objects are track-able and locatable in this system. In fact, the value of the physical objects is approaching zero and it is the information about the object that is increasing exponentially.
So, what I am getting at is that in the next version of humanity your head (at least in its current format) will no longer be required. People like Ray Kurzweil and many others are saying that the collective processing power of all human beings on planet earth will be surpassed by an artificial intelligence by the year 2045. I am going to be 66 years old.
Ray Kurzweil goes on to say “Current progress is on a scale that is a thousand to a million times faster than biological evolution.” Which means, our “heads” cannot possibly keep up with the accelerating technologies.
I am going to leave you with questions because that’s all I have for now.
What if there is no failure in business?
What will occur for people when an artificial intelligence can provide provide what is wanted and needed to all human beings at all times?
What if all of our desires are met?
What will we do?
Something to think about.
