A few of THE biggest mistakes made by new businesses

Did you know that over 90% of people spend over 90% of their time and money doing what they need/have to do and not what they want/to do?

If you have realised this fact and you have built your business to supply peoples needs then you already have amazing percentages to work on with your new business.

Unfortunately even where most new businesses have realised this fact they still end up spending all their time and money on everything else except MARKETING which is another big mistake made by many small businesses.

How crazy it is to build an amazing business and then not understand the importance of needing to tell EVERYBODY about it as soon a s possible!

Another big mistake of small businesses is even when they do carry out considerable marketing then they do not know if or how well their marketing has worked.

Don't make the mistake of having great products and or services and not telling everybody about it, make sure that EVERYONE knows how great your business is and monitor every form of marketing your business does!

From the age of 8 I started working in our family business, getting up at the crack of dawn (4 A.M) to go and buy the stock with my uncle which we would sell in our wholesale operations and chain of retial shops, on to my first entrepreneurial adventure, TCAS in Germany, one thing was completely clear to me then, and still is now.

It was and is my fundamental objective to identify and eradicate the weaknesses the damage our businesses chance of creating real and serious success.

Real profits lie in business operations and I have become an operations genius!

Marketing is a simple numbers game but streamlining before marketing ensures maximum return on everything you do!!!

Your Intial Mistakes Business Your Intial Mistakes Business - Hi, When I started my business I had made a lot of mistakes initially. These helped me in learning the art of the trade and today when I look back, I feel that these mistakes were quite silly. I had made my learnings then and those learnings have helped me time and again. Some of the mistakes I made were - i. Wrong Time Management ii. Wasting money on glossy Brochures and Business cards iii. Believing what they taught me at school was 100% correct iv. Giving too much when it was not required...... I would like to find out what have been your faltering moments in Business when you had started and what/how did they help you grow. Regards
You are too young You are too young - ok..let me give you a negative and a positive negative: founders are stubborn masochists. they don't learn from people's mistakes. they need to make all the predictable mistakes them selves, because they assume that bad things only happen to other people positive: the biggest mistake that I, and all other founders make is not doing survey. you wanna do a web dev shop? pick up the phone and do surveys. think that you don't need to? that's predictable if you want to successfully kick start something to clock max returns at lowest risk, you must go and do surveys to a) build a data base of prospects b) put assets on your balance sheet so you can do financing c) qualify your opportunity....but you're not gonna do any of these things because you need to make your own mistakes
Re: Social Networking Site Endorsements Re: Social Networking Site Endorsements - Hi Shri, You made the right choice because the only thing of value you have in business is your reputation/brand. If you give an endorsement, recommendation or referral to someone you dislike or barely know, what does that say about you? At least you'll have a much easier time living with mistakes made by a friend you endorsed as opposed to that of an acquaintance.
Re: Hotmail Scam! Re: Hotmail Scam! - Hi David, Many people will fall for that, because they are innocent and don't know how to recognize the spam in all their junk. Another thing is the English. I only noticed the mistakes because you bolded (is this a word?) them. When we read, our mind know how to automatically change the mistakes to words we are familiar with. The other reason is for people like me that English is not their first language, and may never notice these mistakes, unless someone points them out.
Re: Help me review my report. Re: Help me review my report. - Hi Yinka, I enjoyed reading your story of using offline recruiting methods for your Internet business. The info about the mistakes you made in the beginning and how you learnt from them was also instructive. I will read it again and send you a testimonial.
