Probably not, but by now, you are probably pretty certain that you have bumped into more than your share of "stuff" and would like to become more familiar with certain patterns that are actually standing, like a big brick wall - right in front of your success.

Five Strategies to Help you Break Free of What is Standing Between You and Your Success - A Bit of Context

I bet you started your business to make a profit, right? Or maybe to make a difference or create a lifestyle. But did you go into business to grow yourself? Were you sitting around a job one day saying, "Hey...I think I'll take on one of the biggest personal growth transformation experiences there is...I'll start a business!" More than likely you probably never had that conversation with yourself. And if you are like most of us, by now you have bumped into more than your fair share of the 'stuff' or what I call mindset traps. There are five basic, underlying traps that we must all quickly address in order to break free of, and bust right through before we can have a positive personal growth transformation.

The Five Traps are:

1. I have to do it all myself
2. People won't pay higher fees
3. Everyone already knows this
4. It needs to be perfect
5. I don't have enough _______

Ok, and as a reminder - if you see yourself in some of these traps, be gentle. No judgment, no shame....just awareness and action. So as you read this stuff, the best thing to do is to commit to doing something different. Sort of like that old Seinfeld show where George did "Opposite Day." ?

With that bit of context, I'm excited to dive into strategies that will address Trap #1 in another post. Definitely keep an eye out because these are simple things you can do that will have an immediate impact on your happiness and bottom line.

Legal due diligence - It seems like you've gotten a lot of advice on how to "value" your prospective venture. But here is something else to keep in mind: do the legal due diligence. 1. What type of structure is it? Corporation, LLC, etc? Is it in "Good Standing?" 2. Does the business have any written contracts, if so with whom? (E.G. advertisers, vendors, employees) 3. Who owns the intellectual property? Copyrights to content, trademarks? 4. How is revenue generated? How do the sellers want to be compensated? Are they willing to do an earn-out? 5. Are there any lawsuits pending or threatened? These are just a couple ideas....
