How Secure is Security?
Most people avoid doing what they would really like to do because they don't want to jeopardize their security in life. In reality, how secure can one be, even if you don't take chances?
Every day, people will experience accidents (personal and auto), come down with unusual diseases, lose jobs or their personal fortunes, and a number of other catastrophic events that are totally unpredictable and unavoidable. My point is very simple, "Life has no real security." As a matter of fact, the major purpose of every person is to experience the unknown. By going into new, uncharted territories, you will grow into more of a person who is living a full life.
Security is definitely underrated and highly misunderstood. If a person is apprehensive about doing something, danger is still present in that individual's life. Apprehension can actually produce more danger than the perceived danger.
The famous nutritional advocate, Dr. Cindy Gale stated so perfectly, "True security comes from feeling confident in one's abilities and the choices one makes."
As the late Helen Keller once said, "Security is a superstition-it does not exist in nature. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure."
Instead of obsessing with the purpose of "security," become your true self. Whatever that is will be much more secure than living life as an imposter. The person who lives a smaller life, because he is scared to experience his real self, is actually a fraud. This person will never achieve security if he is living a falsehood.
It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you really are meant to be. Decide today to become your real self. There are some simple guidelines to follow that will help you in the discovery process:
- Get to know what you like and what you don't like. The only way you will ever know if you like or dislike anything is by experiencing it yourself. Try to be open minded and courageous enough to try many different things.
- Learn to accept the fact that you will need help in discovering your self and then more help in making it a reality. Every person can achieve things in a fraction of the time, if she is willing to ask others for direction and feedback. It takes courage to ask others for help.
- Make a plan. Once you discover what you want, make a plan to achieve it. The more detailed your plan for any desire, the more likely it will be achieved. Be courageous in facing the tasks at hand and write out a complete workable plan-of-action.
- Take action on your plan. Too many people spend a great deal of time planning and then rewriting their plans, yet never get around to taking action toward anything. Other potentially successful people just think about what they will do or want to do in the future. Be courageous enough to take action on the plan you make. You can always adjust your plan-of-action by adding or taking away some of the action steps. One thing is for sure, "No action will always result in no progress."
- Be courageous. If you aren't courageous enough to take a chance on things to live the life you desire, you are bound to what you currently have. Courage is like a muscle, the more you use it, the stronger it gets. Exercise your courage muscle regularly and you will experience more life in so many areas.
As you practice the above guidelines, and you begin to experience a new life, please continue to share this information with others in order for them to do the same. Knowledge is only valuable when it is applied and shared with others.

Regardless of what you do, "Do It Now" and when the going gets rough (there will always be some rough times along the path to anything worthwhile), "Keep Going!" When you persevere and avoid procrastination toward the things that will bring a better life, the more security you will experience in the end.
So, security is really a pay-out to those individuals who are courageous enough to live their real lives and accomplish their dreams. Ponder on this writing for only a short while and then get down to applying the above guidelines to your life.
