Every
day, I keep hearing people asking, “where do I go next for funding?” I’ve talked about how to seek funding, how to
seek investors, how to get money, etc.
No matter how you slice it, trying to seek funding is almost like going
door to door and asking people if they have five minutes to hear an idea. Obviously, it’s more professional than that,
but the feeling of apprehension is still there as you try to scale the
metaphorical walls of potential investors.
With
all of the innovations in social networking and business tools, how has a
solution to this ordeal not been developed?
As soon as I asked this question to myself, a colleague showed me a
website called, Sprowtt and then I considered wondering aloud if I could
have a free Mercedes.
To put
it simply, by using Sprowtt, anyone can participate in the funding of
companies. Potential investors are able to log on to the site and create a
profile with detailed financial and bank account information. Then they are
given a list of companies they can invest in based on their financial
capabilities. The start-ups have their
own information posted such as informational presentation videos, the amount of
money the start-up has already raised, and their products and detailed business
plans, on which the investors can share their comments.
So
what happens if the investor likes the company?
Once they’re interested they can sign the stock subscription agreement
and then enter the number of shares they wish to purchase. At this point, the funds are held in escrow
until the offering is complete (which happens when the minimum amount for an
offering is accumulated). Sprowtt then helps to transfer the funds from an
investor’s account to the start-up.
The
entire process is done in a very comfortable and familiar format that is like
almost any social networking set-up that we as a Web 2.0 familiar community are
used to. Personally, I think that if
this site can get its proper ducks in a row that this will make the investor
process very accessible to the sudden influx of start-ups that are currently
out there and ready to make the leap to capital raising.

- It's interesting to see what the different motivations are by Age Category. I've noticed this around me:
20 to 29yr olds: Motivator: Money
30 to 39yr olds: Motivator: Success/Ambition
40 to 49yr olds: Motivator: Family comes first
50 to 59yr olds: Motivator: Leaving a legacy
i've only gone that far in my analysis. Of course this is a braid generalization but I find that it helps direct my marketing to individuals in different age brackets. The product/service can be the same but the Marketing message (Benefit Statement) to a 20 year will revolve around "Money" vs. a 30-something would be on their "Self Image"
CEOs and Email - Slaves?
- I wonder if the emails they are responding to are filtered thru their assistants first 'cos they seem to spend a lot of their off hours responding to them.
True they are successful but I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay that price.
I'd be interested to know what's the in the typical day planner of Entrepreneurs on the Forum.
Entrepreneurs are a different breed than Paid Employees- so it would be interesting to view the contrast.
Fundraising for 3rd world Entrepreneurs
- How great to learn that Evan is doing something for Entrepreneurs in Africa!
It just makes me even more thankful to be part of this forum!
After helping create a new charity for animals in my local community last year, I created a vision for a charity empowering Women Entrepreneurs. It won't happen for a while yet, but I know it is something I will do within the next few years.
As we allow ourselves to think bigger, the opportunity to impact people becomes much bigger as well.
Does anyone else have a desire to really make a difference in the world through this means?

- Search Engine Friendly Tags
- Website submission to Search Engines
- Website Submission to Social Sites (Like twitter, Facebook)
- Articles Promotion & Press Release Promotion
- Quality Directories promotion
- Contribution to Blogs, Forums
Black hat techniques can reduce website strength in the search engine and can treat site as spam that could be following.
- Keywords Stuffing.
- Hidden Links
- Maximum Links of unknown sites.
