Green Power; A Home Built Headache?

One of the primary focuses of anyone looking to live a eco friendly lifestyle is of course, energy. Energy consumption is something that we simply cannot avoid. At home and at work, we are almost always using up some form of energy. The goal of many people ( and hopefully yourself) is to find alternative energy sources for the energy we need. Ideally, this green power source should not only be more environmentally friendly, it should also be cheaper than the current energy producing methods. Two methods that immediately come to mind are solar power and wind power. But for the average person, converting to solar or wind power is easier said than done. You could buy ready made solar or wind energy systems and have them installed in your home, but the cost of this is simply too great for most people to afford. Lately, several information products have come on the market on home built solar or wind energy. These programs offer to teach you how to build the required equipment, install it, and use it to reduce or eliminate your energy bill and have a more eco friendly home. But out of the mass of informational products, which are fact, and which ones are fiction?

I recently stumbled upon a website that offers guides for a DIY windmill and how to make solar panels, so I figured I'd check them out a little further...

First off, I were impressed at the amount of information given to me. Home Made Energy guides come in PDF format, and are accompanied by several instructional videos. The videos will really help those that have a hard time "learning by reading". Initially I wasn't to thrilled to only have a digital copy of the guides (unless I printed it myself) but with the videos to guide me, it turned out to not be an issue at all.

I was concerned at first that all I had bought was a directions on how to spend thousands in material and endless hours on a project. Either that, or I would end up with a cheap, useless science project. Turned out that neither was the case. Using the information provided, about 12 hours, and $300 of my money, I had both a working homemade solar panel AND a fully functional windmill generator. After hearing countless stories about $10 guides that cost thousands to build, I was quite happy with my results.

What [spin]is really great about this product though was the fact that the makers also saw with to provide updates on a monthly basis. This keeps me up to date on green energy products, as well as building on and improving my initial efforts. That alone made it more than worth the cost.

In conclusion... this product gets a high rating from me, based on it's ease of use, continued update feature, and last but not least, the fact that it delivers exactly what it promised; a cheap, easy way to reduce my energy bills while having a more eco friendly home. I strongly recommend Home Made Energy to those looking to go green.
