MANAGEMENT IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS! It opens every business door.
You manage you, and that's not always easy. You managed to get up this morning. It was a decision. You did what you had to do. You worked, and maybe had some time to play. You did the days activities in a certain order. For most of us, the order is dictated both by ourselves and by circumstances of the moment. You managed to navigate through and arrive at the end of the day. You are management.
Executives in management at large corporations occasionally may wear more than one hat. Managers of smaller businesses wear multiple hats almost every day. They hold meetings at the kitchen table rather than at a shiny glass topped walnut conference table. The intent in this business writing is to present information applicable to those involved in business management. I hope this is of particular benefit to the compact management teams.
All management today is expected to face their challenges bravely. From my viewpoint, the owner-operator businesses and the mid-market companies are the main street heroes of commerce. This is for you.
The world is stuffed to the gills with volumes of books, articles, courses and viewpoints on management. There exist many excellent resources on business management principles and practices. There is much to learn regarding management. The study of management is best approached as a lifetime learning experience. Many people say they find the non-scholarly earth-bound discussions of management the most helpful.
Plan, Organize, Direct and Control, the basic functions of management, are all action words.
