Challenges for the Indian BPO firms

According to the industry experts, the local IT/BPO companies of India require to get the global makeover so as to bid for the civilian and the government outsourcing contracts in other countries. With more and more countries entering into the global outsourcing scene, it’s the idea time for India to capitalize on other major areas. The way Indian IT organizations price in this global scenario

Over the years, most of the major European and US companies have outsourced their peripheral business activities to India. Most of the times, foreign companies are found to make the most of the traditional benefits that India is known to offer like a pool of talents, high quality service available at low cost.

Most industry experts feel that India is especially known for the traditional benefits that it offers to the worldwide companies. However, its time for the country’s business process outsourcing industry to think something unique and fruitful so as to offer customers and clients something extra thereby ensuring the competitive advantage.

What type of strategies do the Indian BPO firms require to have?

Industry reports suggest that the Indian IT/BPO organizations require becoming much more creative and thereby create more new services. Why? Indian is long known to work in the path of the labor arbitrage plan. This is the plan that has helped the companies to gain the maximum mileage for more than 15 years or so.

In the meanwhile, most IT organizations are started to realize that providing simple outsourcing jobs and BPO offerings is not the right way to remain profitable as it was in the past.

The challenges Indian business process outsourcing companies have to face:

It is not at all easy to change from the existing model to the new model overnight. Moreover, it also requires a lot of investment for making the transition to the new model. The cloud computing process will also be putting a lot of pressure on the existing businesses. However, the conventional model of business process outsourcing will not be going to vary overnight as most of Indian outsourcing firms already have deep ties with that of the existing consumers.

Newer Businesses which can be tapped by the Indian companies by means of outsourcing:

The Indian IT/BPO firms should get the global makeover in order to compete in the international markets. These companies also play a greater role in the economy. Take for instance; the health care segments require being much more IT efficient and IT intensive. If Indian companies are not doing it, then they will be limiting all of their long term objectives. Many of the health care firms in United States are private and mostly run by the health maintenance companies. This also offers a profitable opportunity for the Indian firms. Now it solely depends on the United States Government to decide and call on what they actually want to get outsourced to the Indian organizations.

Re: Outsourcing Software Development India Re: Outsourcing Software Development India - Outsourcing projects to Romania, India, and Pakistan have proved to be fantastic in quality and overall value. We've outsourced specific financial suites to Indian firms over the last 5 years and have seen tremendous results. We benefit from being able to have the same software completed over there for a fifth of the cost it would cost to be designed here in Canada. Kudos to you and your firm, all the best in the future!

[/quote:gla81p60] And if it's NOT that much to raise... open up a service you can provide for non-Indian project providers. Elance.com, Guru.com, Rentacoder.com employ thousands of Indian service providers who complete projects and often times you can recoup $500 in one job. You just have to sell yourself there and complete a few projects. Warmest Regards, Takuya
Definitions of merger Definitions of merger - Mergers can be characterized according to three categories: horizontal mergers, which take place between firms that are actual or potential competitors occupying similar positions in the chain of production; vertical mergers, which take place between firms at different levels in the chain of production (such as between manufacturers and retailers); and other mergers, such as those which take place between unrelated businesses or conglomerates with different types of businesses. Aberdeen Lyle Merger Analysis Large mergers, acquisitions and some other corporate combinations require prior review and approval in some jurisdictions. As part of their review, competition authorities may prohibit mergers or approve them subject to conditions. Mergers are usually only prohibited or subjected to conditions if the authority concludes that the merger will substantially harm competition. Given the discretion inherent in the interpretation of this threshold, various competition authorities have published merger guidelines. These are intended to assist firms and their advisers to anticipate the procedures and criteria, which will be applied in assessing a merger. Some Merger Concerns Merger reviews typically focus on horizontal mergers since, by definition, they reduce the number of competitors in the relevant markets. Also of concern are mergers between firms, which are active in a particular market with another firm, which is a potential competitor.
How She Does It How She Does It - Interesting to see what are the most popular threads in this folder, judging by how many hits each thread gets. There must be a lot of moms out there who want to start businesses. I'm currently reading How She Does It: How Women Entrepreneurs are Changing the Rules of Business Success, by Margaret Heffernan. Some interesting statistics: Between 1997 and 2006, privately held businesses owned by women grew at 3 times the rate of all American privately owned firms, women's companies are creating jobs and growing profits at twice the rate of all firms and are responsible for more payroll than all of the Fortune 500 companies combined. This book tells the stories of a few women who have made it big...recommended reading so you know that "you can do it, too."
