Personal Accomplishment Builds Long-Term Success

Success is something just about everyone strives for. It gives us a reason to push ourselves and do our personal best. Scientists recently have shown that even the smallest amount of success results in a release of the neurotransmitter dopamine, which is the brain's pleasure chemical. Along with causing more positive feelings, this chemical works to form neural pathways which aids in learning new skills. What this means is that the more you succeed in life, the better your brain is wired to remember the key information to help in future successes.

This study shows the importance of being successful in our daily lives. Many lose track of their pursuit of success as they become sedentary in their jobs and lack positivity in their lives. In addition, experts agree that if you fail at something, don't let the negativity of the failure bother you. Think about what you can do to be more successful the next time around. Negativity has been shown to coat your brain with cortisol, a stress hormone, which causes an individual to become frustrated and pessimistic. This results in the opposite effect that success offers; as one becomes more focused on the negatives, it breeds more negativity. It is the exact same for positivity; thinking positive and being successful create more possibilities for future successes by the brain "learning" the key information that led to success.

Today's recession has left many feeling unsuccessful with high unemployment and a tough job market. The lack of personal accomplishment many find in daily work is causing many to forget how they can attain new success ,which is causing many to lack the motivation to find a job or start a new life.

One way to prevent this is by having small successes in your daily life. Push yourself to start a new exercise plan or apply for a set amount of jobs each day. Once these obstacles are completed, you will feel more personal achievement which will help to foster more personal growth for your future.

It is an innate human trait to strive for something better for ourselves. It drives today's entrepreneurs and helps many find their dream job. As this drive focuses on accomplishment, it is important to be successful everyday to ensure a positive and successful future. Think about the positive side of life and make a plan for success today and you surely will find yourself in a more successful place tomorrow.
