Are You Living In Stress City?

Use The NEWSS To Defeat Stress Wherever You Live Most people think stress is a killer. It can be, but only in excessive amounts. You may know someone who says they "thrive on stress," and though your friend may just be an adrenaline junkie, the same could be said of the human race. Stress gets our attention, and switches on the "fight or flight" instincts that were key to our ancestors' survival.

I've described it this way to my stressed-out coaching clients: you are like a bridge over a river in the middle of the city. Big trucks roll over your back all the time (I bet you feel that way sometimes!). But it's not like there is no purpose to it all. They build bridges in cities precisely so there's a way to get trucks over the river... and they put you in your job (or you put yourself into business) for a reason, too. In a way, handling stress is what you do to earn the big bucks.

Speaking of cities, if you live in one, you are probably more susceptible to being over-stressed. According to this June's issue of the periodical "Nature," being born and raised in a major urban area sticks you with a greater lifetime risk of stress-related maladies like anxiety and mood disorders. The journal says city living affects two regions or your brain that regulate emotion and stress; as a result, city slickers have a 21 percent higher risk of developing anxiety disorders, and a 39 percent higher risk of developing mood disorders. Those city "bridges" seem to be loaded with some pretty heavy trucks!

If you ask a civil engineer, she'll tell you there are only a few things you can do to reduce the stress on an over-stressed bridge. You can make the river less wide (not too practical), or take some of the trucks off (also not practical, especially in the metaphoric sense - your business requires a certain number of figurative trucks to be transported over a certain distance of figurative river).

Or you can make the bridge stronger.

When it comes to making yourself a stronger handler of stress, start with the five key daily health habits I call "The NEWSS:" Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Sleep, and Supplements. Cut the garbage from your diet and eat real, fresh food. Work out at least three times a week (six is better), keeping your heart rate up for at least twenty minutes each time. Get your two liters of water every day, and your eight hours of sleep every night. And take at least one good supplement every day to give your body what it can't get from the modern convenience diet.

Don't give in to the statistics about anxiety and mood disorders. Whether or not you live in a big city, if there's a gap between the stress you have to deal with and your ideal healthy self, get to work on your health habits... and The NEWSS will help you bridge that gap.

Re: About: product production! Re: About: product production! - At the end of the day, having a patent, copyright or trademark are pretty much useless because if the person who infringes on your legal rights and has more money than you... they'll bleed you dry (i.e. outlast you by being able to pay legal costs) long before you can finish the lawsuit. For instance, let's say the City of Toronto copied my artwork. Do you really think I can file a lawsuit and win against the City of Toronto?? Not a chance. Lawyers will try to tell you differently, but that's only because they want your business.
Re: Infographic: The 4 Main Stress Factors Re: Infographic: The 4 Main Stress Factors - I'd like to reference that article in my next blog post as well.. I worked in sales for years and found that days when I was positive, relaxed where days that it was easy to sell. On days that I was stressed I found I would not reach target. Stress is good at times, but it very easily becomes problematic. I do a lot of very physical exercise and work now, to manage it.
Re: What Do you Prefer More - Time or Money Re: What Do you Prefer More - Time or Money - Living the moment. I am living the moment since 4 years ago, after the docs found cancer. They removed it, of course, and since then I just do what i want. Jumping from an airplane was one thing, that was great. Now I want to fly to the moon. I need money for that.

So many different business are blooming and doing well. Whilst there is so much knowledge and opportunity to be healthy and well, the need is still growing. There is so much that could be said.
