Corporations Are Not People!

Protestors Say We Should Eat The Rich - Maybe We'll Have To So we're hanging out in California the other day, because space travel is now affordable and we thought we'd explore a different planet and see if we could find any intelligent life. We didn't. But we did find a lady in a wheel chair, rolling around a resort city with a big sign reading "Corporations Are Not People!" and collecting alms.

She has a point, after all. Corporations are not people. As Charlton Heston revealed decades ago, soylent green is people.

You remember soylent green. It was the tasty food offered to (forced upon) the futuristic society in the movie by the same name, and later in the show, Heston's character discovers it's made from the bodies of the "excess" people euthanized by the imagined totalitarian regime. Heh heh heh! It was just a movie, of course... this could never happen in real life.

In a totally unrelated matter, Obamacare continues to steam on, full-speed-ahead, toward a radically-transformed future in which health care costs will be "managed" by panels of government bureaucrats who, while unelected, will be empowered to decide who gets those life-saving operations and who doesn't. How neat and efficient THAT will be! I don't know about you, but I'm exercising and taking my vitamins, because I'd like to at least be a candidate for those ever-more-scarce health care resources, at least until I'm 60.

We've seen how this movie plays out. If they sense weakness, they deny your application for health procedures, and BOOM! You're food for the rest of us.

Which brings us back to the subject of corporations. In the future, corporations will be responsible for processing us... some into the "fix this body" line, and some into the "this guy's food" line. Now, though, corporations are still evil and in need of radical transformation. Maybe you work for a corporation - if so, hey, you know all about it. Some people in corporations - the hard-working show-offs - get all this opportunity for advancement. But the rest of us? We get menial jobs that amount to slavery. (If you don't realize you're a slave, you need to consult an "Occupy" protestor or some other genius, like this lady we met the other day.) So it's a good thing our current government has a plan for taxing capitalist corporations out of existence! As long as there are people who can get away with crazy stunts like starting a business or making a profit, we'll be stuck in the failed policies of the past and there'll be no hope for us.

It's been popular lately for protestors, wheel-chair-bound or otherwise, to holler "Eat the rich!" I think they literally want us to consume corporations, so that we can realize the long-sought Utopia envisioned by our collectivist masters. So let's get on with it! I thought it was just a movie, but it turns out the whole soylent-green thing might be true. And, apparently, soylent green is corporations! At least it is in California.
