Government Does Not Create Jobs Or Wealth

Article Overview: Americans are starting to see behind the curtain, and they're refusing to buy what's behind it. Average Americans see the declining purchasing power of their dollars from the gas pump to the grocery store. They see someone in their family or neighborhood who's been out of work for over a year. They see unions tear apart state capitols for more rights to bloated salaries and benefits, and they see taxpayers stating clearly that such luxurious jobs can no longer be afforded. They see their own credit card bills and their own shaky retirement accounts. When the media asks them to believe what they're being told instead of what they see, average Americans shake their heads and worry....

Government Does Not Create Jobs Or Wealth
The Price America Pays For "Change" Is Not Right
Today, the mainstream media in America is jumping for joy over the latest "unemployment figures." Having long-ago abandoned its role as watchdog of the nation in favor of the easier life enjoyed by the statists' lapdog, the "news" media in the U.S. these days operates as a cheerleading squad for President Obama and his liberal colleagues seeking to "fundamentally transform" America from a free capitalist society to a statist collective. So when the government claimed today that the nation's unemployment rate had dropped from 9.0 to 8.9 percent, true or not, the media heralded the "news" as further evidence that happy days are here again.
Thing is, we're all familiar with these tricks by now. As evidenced by such citizen movements as the Tea Party, the average American these days is much more aware of the shenanigans perpetrated by the government - and its pet media. The average "journalist" is only too happy to believe that unemployment has actually started to drop, but the average citizen now views such "information" with skepticism. It's a bit like the "marketing strategy" my mom used to employ in her small-town clothing shop: she'd announce a sale, then stay up the night before marking selected items UP by ten bucks and then DOWN by $10.05... so a garment that was priced at twenty dollars yesterday was now on sale, with a new pricetag showing it'd been "marked down" from thirty dollars to a bargain price of $19.95.
Why the nickel? Every retailer knows that $19.95 sounds so much less expensive than twenty dollars... just like 8.9 percent unemployment sounds so much better than nine percent.
Remember the wildly-popular game show, "The Price Is Right?" The goal, often, was to guess the price of an item as closely as possible, without going OVER. So now, with an alleged unemployment figure of 8.9 percent in America, the media can run with the joyous proclamation that the government has brought unemployment down "below nine percent," and no longer can the conservative pundits out there (both of them) cry about a figure OVER nine percent. Hallelujah! But the media, and the government, are really just playing the game. They're guessing. They are trying to guess what "price" the public will "buy" when they're told the story of economic recovery. They make up all these unemployment numbers, and this month they were able to make up a lower number for their lapdogs to bark about by "revising" the number of jobs available overall. Now, while droves of people are still unemployed, the government can count a lower "percentage" by simply declaring that there were fewer jobs available than previously thought. The facts tell a story of statistical manipulation; the media tells a story of statist success.
Experts will tell you the real percentage of unemployed in America is around twenty percent, and that hasn't changed. The government can claim a lower figure IF you don't count this and that (things like people who've been unemployed so long they've run out of benefits, for instance)... but it's really just a made-up number. They're playing The Price Is Right... but the average American is paying a price for this march to collectivism that most believe is far from right. And they're not buying.
The frightening fact is that the entire economy is being artificially propped by a variety of mechanisms. The Federal Reserve, which is neither federal nor reserved, has manipulated the currency. Unions, which used to protect workers but now milk them for political purposes, have manipulated wages and employment. And the government, through such underhanded tactics as last summer's "financial reform" legislation, has manipulated everything from the stock market to the credit industry. But Americans are starting to see behind the curtain, and they're refusing to buy what's behind it. When the media asks them to believe what they're being told instead of what they see, average Americans shake their heads and worry.
Here's what you do. First, make sure everyone in your house is doing all they can to build and maintain health. Without that, you have nothing... because the government and the media are not going to take care of you if you one day lack the ability to take care of yourself. Second, start a business on the side, so that you have an income stream that doesn't depend on your precarious employment. And third, draw inspiration from this: sure, it's going to get a lot worse when the artificial props of our economy finish their collapse - but then, it's going to get a lot better, when good average people get back to the business of driving a real economy, and a real America.
