Successful Entrepreneurs Have No Drinking Problem

They Get Plenty Of Water As Part Of Their Habit Of Health Successful entrepreneurs know they have to keep themselves vital and energetic. They realize their own personal energy level is key - it's one of the most crucial factors governing the success of their business, if not the most crucial. Sure, it's easy to get obsessed with The Big Idea that is your business; but if you don't drive the enterprise, no one will, and that's why you have to have gas in the tank. You have to be energetic and vital.

To accomplish this, I believe in five daily disciplines I refer to as The NEWSS: Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Sleep, and Supplements. You have to watch what you eat and drink, and you have to exercise every day, as I've mentioned in previous articles. Today, think about what you can do to make sure you're getting enough water to fuel your system and refresh your body. It's actually easy, once you make the decision to do it, and watching your water intake doesn't take too much time and attention away from your business. Consider what small changes you might make in order to make hydration part of your routine health habits.

Experts vary on how much water you need in a day. If you are a small person, you might need less... if you're overweight, you need more. But a good rule-of-thumb is 64 ounces, or about two liters, every day.

I have a half-liter water bottle, like the kind you'd use in the gym (and you should). I make sure I fill and drain it at least four times a day. For me, it works to drink one bottle with my morning pre-workout supplements, one more during my workout, and another with my breakfast shake and supplements. So by breakfast, I've had 3/4 of my daily minimum of water, in addition to a good workout to jump-start my metabolism and a nourishing low-carb shake to replenish my system.

Most days, since I run a business on my own schedule, I'm able to do a second workout in the afternoon... so by the time I get to bed at night, I usually find I've had about three liters of water. But two liters - the level I consider my daily minimum - has become an easy level to maintain.

Water helps you feel more energetic, even a little "lighter." It flushes fat and toxins from your body. It is essential in helping your body absorb nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and the good stuff you get from supplements.

If you have recurring headaches, feel groggy or even depressed, feel bloated, or just lack the energy to do what you need to do, consider that you might be dehydrated. Try making sure you count to two liters of water intake every day for a week, and see if you notice a difference.

Another tip is to make yourself drink, say, half a bottle of water with every cup of coffee or glass of your favorite alcoholic beverage. Wine is actually good for you, as are most teas, and some studies show there are even benefits to coffee consumption... but drinking water along with these other beverages will keep you from over-doing it.

You need your health. Your body needs energy, to allow you to drive your business. As your brain works to keep cash flowing through your business, make sure you keep water flowing through your body.

It's a no-brainer.

CEOs and Email - Slaves? CEOs and Email - Slaves? - I wonder if the emails they are responding to are filtered thru their assistants first 'cos they seem to spend a lot of their off hours responding to them. True they are successful but I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay that price. I'd be interested to know what's the in the typical day planner of Entrepreneurs on the Forum. Entrepreneurs are a different breed than Paid Employees- so it would be interesting to view the contrast.
