Three Reasons Now's The Time

Be An Entrepreneur When Others Are Stuck In Victimhood Many of my clients are thinking about starting a business, but wonder about the timing. After all, the economy's a mess, right? It is, but that doesn't mean it's a bad time to make an investment, even a big one such as a business start-up.

There are three reasons you should think about starting a business now... and why, if it's a home-based internet business, the sooner the better.

First, the government regulatory environment, bad as it is, is set to get much worse before it gets better. Private wealth of the sort created by entrepreneneurs is under heavy and worsening attack. So while you might have been better off in certain industries and segments, say, 30 years ago when more business-minded folk were at the helm, you may have to wait another 30 years before it gets that good again. So now, before the real bad stuff hits, is the time to begin building and protecting your wealth. As Gerald Ford once said, a government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take away everything you have. While the statists are still trying to grow the government big enough to fulfill everyone's wish lists, get yourself into an ownership position.

Another reason you should start up now is that your would-be competitors are afraid to do the same. Trillions of investment dollars are sitting on the sidelines, waiting for things to get better. Experts tell me most of that wealth will end up being "confiscated" by an ever-growing government, which has myriad ways to take the money from outright taxation to dilution of monetary worth. So you're going to find some wide-open playing fields, and if you're savvy, you can protect what you make in ways the onlookers haven't thought of. You will be building your business muscles while they let theirs get flabby.

Finally, you can get great talent to fuel your business, and you can get it cheap. Unemployment levels are shattering all previous records. Even if you intend to open a "one man shop," you will be creating downstream work for others if you start doing business on your own. And I can personally assure you that nothing's more satisfying than being able to provide paid work - even in small doses - to people who really need it these days.

The greatest wealth transfer in history is underway - experts say $50 trillion will flow over the next few months and years from the uninformed to the unafraid. As the old saying goes, the winners will be those who keep their heads while those around them lose theirs.

Books that should be written Books that should be written - [quote:1m0dcpd7]"The Idiots Guide To Sticking With One Thing At A Time and Not Doing Something New All The Time" [/quote:1m0dcpd7] I myself am a 'constructive' procrastinator... I don't know if I'm alone in this. I have about six or seven projects I'm working on at any given time. I get one project almost done... then my interest is piqued by another project and I work on that... I get burnt out and move to another...I know I do this so I have it arranged such that once I get bored or burnt out with one project, I can step right back into project 1 - or 2 or 3, and get that a little bit more done before moving on to something else. As long as you're organized and know where all your reference material/idea sheets are when you're ready to get back to work on each project, it should be fine. I also find that by stepping away from a project - I still work on it in the recesses of my mind so that when I go back to it - it's with some good ideas that I wouldn't have had if I'd continued on with it originally. Maybe I should write a book on how to Procrastinate Constructively... I've actually thought about doing that...because most people procrastinate, don't they...and very few are ever able to stop.
