7 Key Components of an Instantly Successful Small Business
If you are looking to start a small business, or you are interested in growing a business that you currently own, then you need to keep reading. There are 7 factors that every small business owner needs to obtain in order to position their business to have the best possible chance of success. Read on to find out more.
Here are 7 key components of an instantly successful small business:
1. You are marketing your product or service to a school of hungry fish-This is the one step that if mastered, will almost assure you instant success. You need to start with the niche. Find a group of people that are already looking for what you sell. These are people that have already raised their proverbial hands and declared that they want to buy. You accomplish this through research, pre-qualification, pre-selling, and surveys.
2. You are selling something that people already want- There are way too many entrepreneurs and small business owners that do this in the wrong direction. Find out what your school of hungry fish is looking for and sell them exactly what they want. Then, keep selling it to them until they want something else, then sell them that new thing.
3. You have a consistent marketing message- You customer may need to be in contact with your marketing message 7 or more times until they even start to make a buying decision. If they get a new slogan, USP, or marketing message from different angles each time they are in contact with your service, they will never come to realize what your business stands for. You need to cement an image of your business in the customer's mind.
4. You can be trusted- Tell your customers some dirt about you. Never appear to be too perfect. Show that you have integrity and that you mean what you say, stand up to you word, and fulfill your orders and guarantees.
5. You are branding you instead of the business- People buy from people, not organizations. Since you probably do not have a huge, recognizable brand name, sell yourself as a person. People want to build a relationship with you. Sell as YOU, not your business.
6. You have multiple streams of income- Do not count on just one product, service, or client to bring in all of your money. This is a recipe for disaster. Sure you will introduce one thing at a time, but always think one step ahead for ways that you can branch out your offerings in other areas.
7. You keep selling to the customers you already have- Getting new customers is REALLY expensive. Instead, as you are trying to generate new leads, work very hard on maintaining that customers that you already have and keep selling them products and services that will help them. Current customers are practically free to sell to.

- Hi Forum Members,
I'm helping start up a Business Coaching and Consulting company here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (a Subsidiary of RSC Business in Los Angeles).
As a Research and Development Intern I am required to practice my listening and interview skills by surveying Small and Medium Businesses on thier Business.
This Survey is designed by RSC Business to also assist the Business being interviewed more insight into their own business.

At the end of these interviews I will be publishing a report of the results and they will be made available for free to the Interviewees. The Report data will include responses from a minimum of 100 interviews.
I would like to extend this opportunity to members of the Forum.
If you would like to have this short 20-30 minute interview conducted on your Business and you reside in North America please send me an email or PM.
Please contact me at andy[at]jvprosperity[dot]com to arrange our interview and to get free access to the results when they are published.
