The Power of Three for Your Business
The Power of Three concept is simply this: What three things can you do to generate more business?
Why three things? it's simple, easy to remain focussed on and it's easy to remember three things. If I asked you for 10 or 15 things your brain has to work just that little bit harder and it means that your attention is stretched rather than focussed.
In fact the power of three exists in many of our day to day activities think about this for a moment... there are three months to a quarter; time has three sections past, present and future; there is yesterday, today and tomorrow; many thought leaders around the world believe that human beings consist of three levels - body, mind and soul; there is birth, life and death; Stories, TV shows, movies, shows, events, celebrations, businesses, articles, seminars all have a beginning, a middle and an end.
As you can see the philosophy is not something new, here are THREE practical applications of the Power of Three for your business...
Number 1 - To succeed at networking there are three values that you must integrate in your approach
1. Fun - you might as well have fun while you are networking, it will make your activities easier to do and if the experiences you are having are fun you are more likely to do them again. Don't take yourself or others too seriously.
2. Support - You do not have to do it alone, enrol the assistance of your friends, family, business associates, business coach or mentor to support you and be supportive in your networking endeavours.
3. Belonging - look at your networking as being part of a community of fellow networkers all working towards the same goal. This is where networking groups can help many of them are structured to assist their members to be inclusive and feel like part of a team.
Number 2 - To succeed in sales there are three steps you must take in your approach
1. Prepare - invest the time in identifying exactly who is your ideal customer, research where your customers are, determining how to best reach them and understand what their specific fears, frustrations, wants and needs are.
2. Action - Nothing happens unless you take action, be consistent in your sales actions and simply do something everyday, after all what you do today will have an impact on tommorrow and don't dwell on yesterday, it's gone focus on the present. What have you done today?
3.Follow Up - Most people don't get the sales they want because they fail to follow up
Number 3 - To succeed in marketing there are three elements you must have
1. A plan - to get any true value from marketing you must have a plan. The plan needs to contain an objective analysis of your business, what specifically you are offering the market, timeline/calendar of activities, who and how it will be delivered and measured. "Fail to plan, plan you plan to fail!"
2. A succinct understanding of your unique offering and your customer - what REALLY makes you different? service and quality are common and frankly expected by a customer today, what will make you stand out from the crowd? Go beyond your unique selling proposition and look at your business from a customers eyes what will inspire them to buy from you?
3. A budget - It's wonderful to have exceptional marketing ideas and plans but without the budget to implement them it will be hard to meet your goals. Marketing activities in your overall business budget is a must not a should have or even a could have. To develop a realistic budget talk to a marketing expert or invest the time in researching how much your ideas will cost to implement.
So I will ask you again, what three things can you do to generate more business?
