Advancements in information and communication technology have brought about a radical change in TV viewing. We’ll all agree that there are essentially two most widely accepted ways to watch TV which is either by cable TV or satellite TV which are fast becoming outdated with the introduction of pc satellite TV. The reasons are not far fetched as it saves you a lot in terms of subscription and time. You might not be aware but to watch satellite on PC is like bringing the best out of the two popular TV entertainment methods enabling viewers to enjoy the best of both worlds.

With a broadband internet connection, a computer system with at least a Pentium II processor 333 MHz, an operating system like Microsoft Windows 98/ME/2000/XP, a PC TV software, other hard wares such as sound card, spare USB slot, and a CD Rom Drive, you can instantly watch TV on PC within minutes. This totally eliminates the need for complicated installation of the satellite dish system which can be very cumbersome and time wasting. It also has the age long disadvantage of inability to transmit during bad weather conditions which is quite the opposite with PCTV so long as you have a broadband internet connection.

The software is programmed such that it receives free to air TV feeds from FTA TV stations which mean the TV channels you will be viewing on your pc are totally free. Comparison between satellite and cable TV versus PC satellite TV would reveal that you can receive maybe 700 channels at max with the monthly services but getting access to over 2000 TV channels with the software is simply awesome. This is the main reason more and more people are opting for PCTV software thereby aligning themselves to the ever changing, technologically driven twenty-first century. Real value for money! Isn’t it?

You do not need any other equipment or hardware, apart from the software, just a good internet connection be it broadband or dial up. Preferably broadband for faster speeds of TV feed transmission. You also need to have Macromedia Flash and Windows Media Player installed before you can watch satellite TV on computer.

Looking at the software side by side with monthly TV services, it outshines services in terms of affordability, the number of TV stations accessible and the user friendly interface. This is a sure reason why more TV viewers, especially the younger generation now watch TV in this way. Learn more about this new technology and how you can make use of the software to watch satellite TV on computer at home from my TV blog.

How Quick is That How Quick is That - Just to let you know that as I'm not as sharp as I might be in the ftp sort of world, I had a problem today with uploading a new site. Hostgator 'Live Chat' fixed this for me in two minutes flat and didn't make me feel I was an idiot at all (at least anymore than I felt myself). As I'm in the UK and ringing early am for me here, I thought that 'Live Chat' might have been EST, so off for me, but no, they were there! BTW I'd spelt my nameservers slightly wrong - duh! Now that's what I call service. Regards.
Re: From Backburner to Sky's The Limit! Re: From Backburner to Sky's The Limit! - Yes, thanks for posting the Paul Potts link. I just watched it. This stuff is fantastic. I had never heard of the programme before last Friday - that's what happens when you live abroad, even with the Internet and satellite t.v.!
Re: Video conference system for families living in different cou Re: Video conference system for families living in different cou - I'm going out on a limb here, but would it be possible to actually have a satellite channel that would be dedicated to this very usage? You would attach the webcam and some converter device to your family t.v. and it would have everything it needed to convert the talking into sound as well. Maybe someone else already mentioned this. I don't understand a lot about IT equipment and capabilities but it sounded like you would really just like to have them use their current t.v. and then all the cost would just be in the converter/webcam portion.

Re: Blogger Vs Wordpress? Re: Blogger Vs Wordpress? - Yes, using self-hosted wordpress is by far a better choice than blogger and other free platforms for your main blog. However, those free platforms can be great for building satellite blogs to help feed your main blogs links and traffic.
