I am Just a Small Dance Studio; Do I Really Need a Website?

If you’re a small dance studio you may be wondering whether it is worth your while to have a website. You’re just a small operation, right? Why go through all that hassle?

Perhaps these things might be going through your head:

These are all valid concerns, but if you want to have a successful business you do indeed need a website.

“But I’m already successful!”, you say, “I already have students in my classes”. That’s all well and good, but take the advice of someone who has been there and remember that anything can change in a flash – students can move away, they can go on to start teaching their own classes, they can have children and get too busy, they can change jobs and have a conflicting change of schedule, etc. etc.

So, in order to be visible these days, you have to have a website.

Come on, it’s easier than you think! Wordpress is free and easy to use once it’s set up, and so many other tools are out there that make it easy to create and update your website. Heck, you could even get a Virtual Assistant to set one up for you in two shakes of a lamb’s tail!

And once you’ve got a website then the sky is the limit when it comes to visibility:

See how much farther your reach can be with a website? You’ve got to get with the times and create your small business presence online, particularly if you have younger students that are super tech-savvy, even if you are a small dance studio.

My name is Sarah MacGregor a.k.a. SMac and I am a Canadian Virtual Assistant, CEO of SMac To The Rescue, and Efficiency Expert who teaches small business owners and entrepreneurs how to increase their business efficiency and get unstuck.  I officially started out as a Virtual Assistant (VA) in 2007. Being insanely organized and an uber planner SMac To The Rescue started off with a bang and it just keeps growing, having now evolved into a Multi-VA practice.

It wasn't long before I realized that some things that seemed like common sense to me were in fact a real struggle for other business owners, and so I naturally fell into the role of breaking down projects into manageable pieces, coaching business owners on how to become more efficient, and bascially coming to the rescue of every solopreneur that crosses my path! I love it when my geekiness perfectly compliments a client's business gaps.

I used to be (and still am) a coding geek - are you a geek too? Let's chat! Love cats? Me too! I will ooh and aah about cats any chance I get. Like to dance? Teach dance? Watch dance of all kinds? Bring it on! I've tried so many different kinds of dance and a few have become my lifelong passions.

Re: Working with Camtasia Re: Working with Camtasia - Cam Studio is good as well. I have both. I actually haven't used Cam Studio yet. It does have a few features that Camtasia doesn't. For anyone that can't afford Camtasia, or wasn't lucky enough to get it free as I did, Cam Studio is a great alternative. Just do a search for it.
