How to Create Facebook fan pages

One of the most powerful tools in gaining traffic is through social media such as Facebook. If you want to get the latest updates, news and tidbits on a particular trending topic, Facebook can easily provide you with this information but for online marketers/businesses, this is very important for them to manage their customer based most especially in replying and putting blog post for them to read. With quality content, tips and pieces of advice, given to customers a Facebook fan page is likely to gain more likes. On the other hand, you can also put embed a video through your Facebook wall so that you can gain more Facebook likes. But with all of these things mentioned, the question is, "How do you create a Facebook Fan Page? Well, you need to have first created a Facebook account followed by deciding whether you want to build a community page or an official page.

A community page is like the usual page where people can comment and like a particular topic. The community page is usually bestowed on the ‘about me' section of the Facebook profile. On the other hand, when it comes to official page, this is like a bulk of information which you can see relevant details of the company, organization, product or artists on Facebook. These kinds of pages usually earn millions of likes.

After knowing the difference between a community page and an official page, it is now for you to continue building that Facebook Fan page for your company. It should follow with a name and some guidelines so that your page would be managed properly. Usually, you'll go through a series of questions for the registration process then you'd be able to edit your page; wherein you can put the necessary information like your company name, website and contact information.

Do remember that you can always post photos, videos, links and discussions to your Facebook Fan page. Whenever you want to edit something or make necessary adjustments to your page, you are free to do so. One more thing, you may want to also download Facebook Applications for your page like "Static FBML" app. This app allows your fans to read solely the information you want to feed them. You can easily achieve this by clicking the "friends only" button near the profile content.

If you want to put some articles in there, use the "Notes" section to let your fans and visitors see what you're up to. Create an interaction with them and add them to your friends list. And for you to continuously promote your business or create a buzz in the social media world, continue to promote your Facebook fan page.

This is not an easy job that's for sure. There are many techniques out there wherein you can purchase Facebook likes or get Facebook fans fast but you need to be careful in venturing to this kind of services since this may result to spam profiles. If you want to build a strong community page, you need to get real fans not just random fans.

At the end of the day, if you work hard enough you can always see positive results for your business, so don't give up!

Re: Social media question Re: Social media question - Facebook is where I get all my traffic. Facebook is great, because you can create fan pages and your customers come to you. Twitter is good, but I just don't see the same results. I think Facebook is the most popular and it's easier for people to find what they're looking for.
Re: Twitter vs Facebook Re: Twitter vs Facebook - I use Facebook pages for Business and rarely ever use Twitter. I hace lost count of the no. of Hotels that I have visited, regarding their marketing campaigns, that may have 5k Facebook Fans and only 100 followers on Twitter. It is a lot more difficult to engage with people on Twitter and thus harder to gain traction. If you are a business like Nike, then Twitter is great, but if you are an SME, then focus on Facebook or LinkedIn (if you are providing a professional service.) You can always have your Facebook feed directly in to Twitter, so you can have a presence on both, but do the work on one. Also check out ping.fm for managing campaigns - it is a free tool, and a great time saver.
Re: On Which Social Media Sites Are You Most Active? Re: On Which Social Media Sites Are You Most Active? - Facebook, profile and pages, twitter and Youtube, with not so much emphasis on Twitter as It seems to be a spam fest every time I go on their. Facebook can be tricky, keeping business away from personal, can use a page or a different profile, just set up different email address and create another profile as normal, thats what works for me anyways
Re: Social media question Re: Social media question - I had to research Facebook a bit more than I normally would, to help a local non-profit organization decide how to use it for marketing purposes. I learned some interesting things. You can have your own personal profile page, which works great if you are an entrepreneur, but you can also start 2 other types of pages: 1) A fan page -- you can create an unlimited amount, as long as you are an official member of the business or organization 2) A group page -- which can be centered around any issue, business, or cause. But it's more limited than a fan page in several ways, and it's mostly for other Facebook members to interact on Anyway, just thought I would share that since it took me a while to finally wrap my head around how I will want to use Facebook for my own business in the future.
Facebook Fan Pages Facebook Fan Pages - I have a Facebook Fan Page for my business, Solo-E.com. But my efforts at really getting it going (getting new fans, promoting discussion/interaction, etc.) have been, I'll admit, half-hearted. The biggest reason? I hardly ever visit the fan pages of other solo entrepreneurs, even those that I hugely admire. How about you? Do you regularly visit fan pages? What draws you to them, if you do visit? If you do have a Fan Page, what has your experience been with making it successful? How do you even measure that success??
