Entrepreneurship: Taking Action is the First Step to Preparation

If you decide to pursue a venture or other business related activity, proper preparation is a very important and integral part of getting things started. Without a proper strategy, you will be like a ship without a rudder. You’ll drift aimlessly and never get to where you intend to go. The first essential step in preparing for a business related activity is to simply decide to take action. Let’s explore this idea further.

We are probably well aware of the slogan which says “just do it." This is directly related to preparing to move ahead with a business venture or other business related idea. You can’t begin to prepare the things which are necessary for any kind of business until you make the conscious decision to actually begin.

It can be a very comfortable thing to simply think about some activities related to this. The thing is that you need to take decisive action to begin the activities necessary to start planning for the new venture. Without making that conscious decision to get started, you will flounder and ultimately get very little accomplished.

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking you are doing the proper things. Sometimes we don’t always understand or accept the things we do (or don’t do). We can make certain that we are ready to begin the process of planning and strategizing. As much as we find that it is a rather passive activity, the ability to make a strong decision to get started in the first place is one of the most important steps we can take in getting a new venture off the ground. It will certainly help to assure that we can find the best ways to proceed along the entrepreneurial journey.

I am known to be a dreamer. I always have an idea . Many of us entrepreneurs, go from one idea to another, don't we? When I meet people I ask people "What are you passionate about?"or "What is your dream?" While some people can answer this question, most are stopped in their tracks. They are so far removed from living in their passionate best that they just continue to live day after day numb, paying the bills going on vacation once a year and hoping to put enough money into an education fund for their children and may some sort of retirement fund so that ...one day they can enjoy their life. During my 20's and 30's I worked in the restaurant industry. I loved my work as a server and bartender. I took great pride on giving fast, reliable and friendly service. Alongside my restaurant career, I started to create my Plan B. I started to build a team in a network marketing business. Our team, at its height created $20,000 in monthly sales. I was mentored by brilliant business women who quadruple that. I am forever grateful to them as they showed me how to follow their footsteps. Since then, I have transitioned to a different network marketing company that helps businesses and solopreneurs improve their customer relations. I am always looking to partner with people in this business. Please contact me if you are curious on how you can create a Plan B. I am passionate about showing others how they can dream again and truly work their own business that gives them fulfillment control, time freedom and MAKING MONEY! With my hands on experience and vast knowledge combined with my Savvy Ideas, I know what will work and how to start you on the right track. Let me help you. Don't wait until retirement. Start living your passionate best today.

Re: Your choice between... Re: Your choice between... - I will take the $100,000 and double it on it becomes millions before I spend it. Though I am crazy about information, yet I would rather take the money and turn it into a million before I spend a dime out of it. I will do it in 4 steps. Step 1 turn $100,000 to $200,000 Step 2 turn $200,000 to $400,000 Step 3 turn $400,000 to $800,000 Step 4 turn $800,000 to $1600,000. After getting the goal of step 4, I will spend the $600,000 on myself then continue to double the millions again. I could then by the book for $1,000,000
Step by step approach Step by step approach - Here's what I would do; Step 1 - Observe Wal-Mart’s target customers, what does Wal-Mart offer them? How long do they stay? Discover what it is that they might want or need that Wal-Mart doesn't offer, and then write those ideas down. Some ideas to get you started are - A cafe or fast food venue, something for the kids to do while the parents shop, etc Step 2 - Take that list, and weigh up the pros and cons of each idea, and then select the best one for you. Don't worry about not using all the space. Step 3 - Start the best business for you, and then release the other ideas to the general market and sublet the rest of the space to those who could fill some of the niches you've come up with, plus any they can come up with. If money isn't a factor then developing the building to suit multiple small leases may be a better option, as it's a diversified income, which is potentially more stable than one big income stream.
Re: New Video - Should I Get A Job Or Start A Business? Re: New Video - Should I Get A Job Or Start A Business? - Hi Evan, I was curious to know what you'd suggest and I think you gave excellent advice. Taking a year out to try and start your own business is a great idea. Taking a year out after college is a well established option so I guess it doesn't prejudice your chances of getting a job should you wish to do so later on; it probably improves your chances if you've been getting valuable experience of managing a business and of course, if all goes well, you won't need to find out. Definitely a video for my website. Thanks! David

Would anyone know if these books are any good? Thanks
Re: Video conference system for families living in different cou Re: Video conference system for families living in different cou - 1) How much will someone pay for the service? 2.1) What costs are involved on the business end? 2.2) What percent on top of that do you think you deserve as profit? 3) How many people will sign up for the service? These three will give you a rough estimate of the value of your idea. use the equation below with respect to the questions above to figure out the value of your idea. ((1 - (2.1 + 2.2)) X 3) You have alread identified major problems for your idea -- you have competition that is free! Computers are easy to hook to televisions, and it is becoming easier at very fast rate. (For free stuff other than skype, look up NetMeeting if you have Windows XP.) The video conferencing systems do a poor job of creating the feel of a physical presence. Even high dollar systems with dedicated internet bandwidth and extremely nice tracking video cameras do a poor job, especially for long distance runs. I have the experienced the disappointing performance of some of these systems on our campus. Video can not recreate the connection felt when in the same room with another person. Step 1, Quickly and roughly calculate the cost of the system you propose. Step 2, Compare that with what you think someone will pay and the cost of your current compeition. Step 3, Go / No-Go.
