The Laptop Lifestyle: What Does it Mean?

There has been a fair amount of talk on and off the Internet regarding the laptop lifestyle. For those people who are unfamiliar with this term, let’s discuss what is meant by this. The Internet has played a significant role in how we communicate, obtain information and even conduct business. It has brought significant opportunities for new businesses which can be operated largely through a computer.

The advent of the laptop computer and available connection to high speed internet has opened up the possibility of operating an Internet based business virtually anywhere. One of the biggest changes has been the ability to operate a successful business from home.

For many people it is no longer necessary to travel to and from a job in a remote location. Virtually all aspects of a business can be done through the laptop computer connected to the Internet.

This development also allows a person to operate his/her business in places outside of the home. It can even go so far as to allow someone to run his/her business from a pool or tropical resort. Sometimes it is necessary to have an available Internet connection.

However in many cases, the person can perform certain business related tasks on his laptop, store the information and then communicate it through the Internet at a later time.

The bottom line is that the laptop lifestyle points to the ability to operate a successful business on a very flexible basis. As indicated earlier, it can be operated virtually anywhere the business owner chooses. It brings a great deal of freedom, flexibility and enjoyment.

The business person no longer has the constraints characterized by many traditional businesses. He/she can live the laptop lifestyle and operate his business where he wants and when he wants. What an incredible and positive development!

I am known to be a dreamer. I always have an idea . Many of us entrepreneurs, go from one idea to another, don't we? When I meet people I ask people "What are you passionate about?"or "What is your dream?" While some people can answer this question, most are stopped in their tracks. They are so far removed from living in their passionate best that they just continue to live day after day numb, paying the bills going on vacation once a year and hoping to put enough money into an education fund for their children and may some sort of retirement fund so that ...one day they can enjoy their life. During my 20's and 30's I worked in the restaurant industry. I loved my work as a server and bartender. I took great pride on giving fast, reliable and friendly service. Alongside my restaurant career, I started to create my Plan B. I started to build a team in a network marketing business. Our team, at its height created $20,000 in monthly sales. I was mentored by brilliant business women who quadruple that. I am forever grateful to them as they showed me how to follow their footsteps. Since then, I have transitioned to a different network marketing company that helps businesses and solopreneurs improve their customer relations. I am always looking to partner with people in this business. Please contact me if you are curious on how you can create a Plan B. I am passionate about showing others how they can dream again and truly work their own business that gives them fulfillment control, time freedom and MAKING MONEY! With my hands on experience and vast knowledge combined with my Savvy Ideas, I know what will work and how to start you on the right track. Let me help you. Don't wait until retirement. Would you happen to know what the catalyst or tipping point was for their change from a guide for tourists to an Executive Lifestyle magazine? Thanks
laptop vs. Desktop laptop vs. Desktop - I'm not a heavy gamer or graphics person so a Laptop is ideal for me for all the obvious reasons (portability, wireless, work on the go, etc etc) Major downside is the battery power and the cost to replace it - half as much as the cost of the laptop on my current IBM.

Re: What would you do with $500,000 or less? Re: What would you do with $500,000 or less? - there's a show on TV that talks to this point about saving time by getting other businesses to do the work for you. Anyone watch that show (Canada)? It may be on SLICE TV or Lifestyle.
Re: Who are the key players in your life? Re: Who are the key players in your life? - I'd have to say my family, who supported me when I first started out in business for myself... especially my sister, who bought me my Laptop! A supportive family can make anyone a success. A non-supportive family - would make it very tough, I would think. All the more reason to only allow positive-thinking people in to your life and ditch anyone who brings you down with nagging or slighting jokes, et al!
