Hiring is tough!

Guest post by: Ilya Bodner

Article Overview: For the past 15 months I have been in an aggressive hiring mode. Some months more aggressive then others, but overall it has been a daily grind. Despite the weak economy I am still having a hard time finding A players. A friend of mine that also looks for a constant flow of candidates once told me that A players never got fired, laid off, or go jobless. At first I dismissed that but more and more over time I started to realize that this is the case.

As those of us that have jobs and may think that the situations are tough we still have a bit of income, it may not be much or at times it may feel like there is nothing at all - rarely do we say there is absolutely no job for me (it always tends to be the lower income jobs that we push away from).

Over the course of the last 10 years as an entreprenuer I have successfully launched, managed, and sold off several businesses. Each organization has added some value to my understanding of the business world today. My philosophy has been that 9 things out of 10 that I try will fail, but that golden one is always worth the battle. In my experience that has proven to be the case and my successful businesses still operate today under the management of those whom I have sold off to.

Re: looking for experienced affiliate feedback Re: looking for experienced affiliate feedback - Hi Nancy, Hiring an experienced firm to market and sell your products is certainly a viable option. It all depends on whether you want to spend more of your time or money. Hiring a firm is going to cost a good bit I imagine. On the flip side, to do most of the work yourself and attract affiliates to sell your products for you will require much less money but a lot more time and effort. Do you have a budget to work within? Or perhaps maybe you have a loan to get things moving?
Re: Search Engine Optimization Re: Search Engine Optimization - Hi Thomas, So what would you recommend? Hiring an SEO expert or simply trying your hand at doing it yourself?
Re: Alexa Ranking Goals Re: Alexa Ranking Goals - Congrats to GT for hitting your goal and also to everyone who is at least gaining momentum! And an extra congrats to Alan for having such a low alexa ranking! It's tough get under 100,000 and after that it really gets tough. You are doing great!
Re: Fed rate cuts . . . Re: Fed rate cuts . . . - [quote="BizLoanz4u":1hw6furk]These are truely tough lending times and i don't really think the lower rate helps the avarage person.[/quote:1hw6furk] Well..but is tough lending good or bad? Most of the problem today has been caused by lenders being too soft on their "due diligence," haven't they? I used to think that banks only lent money to people who didnt' need it. Now, thatmay come true for real!
Re: What Businesses to Bail Out? Re: What Businesses to Bail Out? - Shri, I agree. Just within my own little circle of family and friends there have been at least 4 people who have filed for bankruptsy. Who do they think gets stuck paying off their debts? Do they think they just go up in smoke never to be heard about again? I know times are tough, but people don't want and /or aren't willing to change their lifestyles to reflect the tough times. And I'm not just pointing fingers at others......I can't get my own husband to understand the depth of the problems our economy has only begun to feel. When you see ONE bank being rescued by the feds for a cool 85 billion dollars, you better believe there's a problem. We, as a nation, are not being responsible and I think our founders would flip in their graves if they knew the mess we were in.
