Re: How can I promote my site? Re: How can I promote my site? - Hey Sarah, first of all, congratulations on launching your website. I'm in the process of creating my own website, and now I know that how much work creating a website is!! (And I'm just making a website for my use) I want to congratulate you on completing your project!! From reading your post I understand that your website targets a specific group of people- artists, film makers etc. Thanks to social networking sites, you can easily find groups of your target audience now. I would look for art-related groups on Facebook, LinkedIn and start interacting with the people there. Simply posting " hey guys, visit my website blah blah blah" is insufficient; people will not give a second look. I think that if you share your expertise in those groups and have your presence online, you will have a better chance at getting people to use your site. It will build your credibility for sure. As David suggested, I agree that you should advertise or contribute content on related magazines and newspaper. You should look for publications that cater to your target group and let you write a story, even if you are not a reporter for that paper. Another thing that I would suggest is to advertise your website at local arts school or film schools. I don't know what your budget is, but you can host a contest on your website where people have to upload their videos and they have a chance to win something! It can be based on most views, or most comments. I have a couple of close friends who go to an art college, and I know that a lot of students will jump on something like that. Hopefully that'll drive traffic to your website and most importantly, keep them coming back once they have a great experience with your website! After all, the success will really depend on the usability, and the quality of your site. Think of ideas that will produce short-term results, but as well as long-term goals that will retain customers. I would love to check out your site:) Please share the link. Good luck!!!
How can I promote my site? How can I promote my site? - Hey guys, Ive been working on a website for ages now and apart from couple of things on there, its pretty much completed. My website is a video sharing website built for artists or any creative person that has a show reel. For instance, if you are an animator or director and would like to share your film to the world my website offers this services. I have just offically launched it today and I need some feedbacks and some advice how I can promote it? Any ideas would be great thank you!
