The Entrepreneur must live to His/Her Highest Values
The basics of human behavior requires that we live to our highest values, thus in so doing we are congruent with our true selves. Higher values always dictate to us from within whereas our lowest values are motivated from outside forces. When we live to our higher values we will operate/work spontaneously, we will be working on what we love and we will have a smile on our faces. We as entrepreneurs will be self-driven when aligned with our highest values. On the other hand, when we are operating from without, we need constant motivation and push. Our days are a "drag" and our whole lives can be described as "unlived lives" in that we are not doing what comes naturally to us. When we set goals aligned to our highest values we are inspired and will succeed. Nobody need to remind us or push us towards those goals, we move in their direction without effort, this is because our actions co-incide with our highest values.
How Do I stay Focused on my Objectives?
Can you believe that the above query is one of the most frequently asked questions put to inspirational speakers/life coaches around the world. The response refers back to the place where each of us feels most inspired and working to our highest value. It's "what you do when your foot is on the gas pedal". On the other hand according to Ricardo's Principle "once we've got the brake on it means that we are not doing what we should be doing". To persevere and have the discipline to achieve the particular goal and to ensure that the goal is congruent with your highest value. Certainty and leadership emerge when people get in touch with themselves and set their highest value goals.
Your space and time will always get filled with low priority activities if and when you do not fill and plan that space with high priority goals. Parkinson's Law states that once you define your day by writing down a list of priorities for each and every day any space or time not filled in by you will get filled by others or by less priority goals. I am focusing particularly here on entrepreneurs who need to motivate themselves daily and constantly without any outside force. This enforces my point that working from our highest values and doing the work we were born to do, we do not need that push from outside, we motivate ourselves. If we prioritise and plan 6 to 7 activities daily which align with our dreams and then acknowledge ourselves when we have marked off those priorities. When we love what we do and are inspired by same we will reach a point whereby getting up in the morning is no longer is a struggle! For the self-employed it makes sense to delegate low priority tasks as soon as one can possibly manage same financially. Setting incongruencies shrink the individual. Expand time and space horizons when setting congruent goals. As I already mentioned in a previous article on Self Confidence whereby people are attracted towards you, Equally it holds true that the more certainty and order in your life the more others will be attracted to meet and speak with you. It resembles "facing the sun" . People yearn to be around higher- ordered people and to participate in their cause, be it their business or their voluntary cause. You will become an inspiration to others if you have a constant yearning to master your life congruently.
Goals
If however, you only have one goal and you achieve it. To stop there prevents you from stretching and challenging yourself and to grow in the process. Always have a cause bigger than yourself. The greater the cause the bigger your life. You grow beyond your problems (problems you thought were unique and insoluable). If your cause is small you will have a small life, equally a large cause you will have a big expansive life. The greater the cause the less stress levels in every area of your life. Have you noticed where people who have small lives always want to project their burdens/values onto you?? I think we have all encountered those situations. If we are "sucked in" by same, our chances to grow and expand are greatly limited. People who want to stay comfortable or in their "comfort zone" they remain stagnant. If you do not go after the challenges you go out to conquer you will remain stuck with low priority challenges. Those who aim to solve difficulties and challenges have the best life. Try and "hang out" with people who you see expanding themselves. If you live by other people's expectations of you, you are living at a "low level". When you do not expand yourself, you are shrinking yourself.
