Monetize Lost Productivity

By definition, productivity is a measure of output from a production process, per unit of input or more simply yielding results, benefits or profits. Productivity is distinct from profitability. Profitability is the net difference between revenues and expenses. However, every little improvement to productivity has a direct impact on your profitability.

In discussions with clients, we talk about productivity in terms of the results they need and how to Get More Done in Less Time and Reduce the Cost to do so.

Look at Denise Lander’s list of Time management statistics.

Note the time loss and the cost impact as reported year after year. These time management statistics are clear evidence that organizations of all sizes desperately need productivity training to take control and get organized.

The statistics are sorted into four categories:

· Email and Internet Use

· Stress and Work/Life Balance

· Time and Multi-tasking

· Paper and Filing

As you look at these figures, consider what the results would be for your business. If you were asked about the time you spend on these four activities and the dollar cost to your business’ productivity, what would the answer be? How could you increase productivity in that area?

When you look at your productivity and the team you have built around your business, can you see inefficiencies in how things get done? What is it costing you to continue to do things the same way? If you monetize that lost productivity, how would you choose to spend those resources? Getting more done? Saving time? Saving money? Increased profitability? Spending more time with friends and family? Taking that vacation?

Re: Time-Management Success Story! Re: Time-Management Success Story! - @Michelle @Trent I know what you mean! On Monday I had four key objectives to achieve. I didn't write them down - they were so strongly impressed in my noddle that I didn't need to! Perhaps keeping things simple and urgent is the key... Yesterday was a reasonably successful day, but not half as productive as Monday. Productivity always takes a dive when I have two classes to teach in two different parts of town at two different times of day (lunch time/evening)!
Re: Great start, but no finish Re: Great start, but no finish - My advise is FOCUS on your business. Focusing is the main factor to succeed on business. If you have a great idea, then follow it only, don't look anywhere else. It is especially essential in an online business. Because there are a lot of mind blowing sales letters promising millions dolllars or overnight success, people find it difficult to concentrate on one business and they lose their energy. Concept is simple. 1- Have a good idea; 2- Build your business on it; 3- Monetize your business; 4- Promote it; 5- Build list of responsive customers; 6- Maintain You Business. Focusing and not fearing from competition (instead you can learn from competitiors) are main tips of billionaires ,BTW. Orxan
Re: The 3 Factors That are Limiting Your Productivity Re: The 3 Factors That are Limiting Your Productivity - Hi Evan, Thanks for a great article and video on 'The 3 Factors That are Limiting Your Productivity'. I think that no matter whether you are self employed like myself or a CEO with staff, it is so important to manage your time so as to maximize the benefit to your business. Your expression Eliminate; Automate; Delegate is easy to remember and will certainly stick in my mind. There are many good business ideas out there but they will ultimately run into difficulty without proper planning and execution so these tips will certainly help. I have also left this comment on the article and will place a link to it on my blog. regards, Mal.
