Article Marketing – Submission To Article Directories
You’ve understood how important article writing is, got a few articles ready, now you want to start submitting them to article directories. So what’s the best way to do this?
* Prepare your articles: Make sure that your article is useful, interesting and informative. Ensure that it obeys the standard guidelines on link availability and resource box usage and is also spell and grammar checked. Very few article directories will allow you to use affiliate links or more than three links in the resource box – two being more usual.
* Publish on your own web sites first: The major search engines are now penalizing duplicate content. It makes sense therefore, to be the first publisher of your article. I usually include my articles in my ezines as well.
* Choose your directories: Firstly, if you want your article marketing to be really effective, then write the articles that publishers want in their publications. This means chose your directories very carefully. Decide if you want to choose a general directory or a specialist directory – both have their merits. The kinds of article directories tend to appeal to different audiences as well. There are several directories that supply articles for the multiple Adsense web sites that now proliferate the internet. These are great if you want a lot of links to your web site but not so good if you want your article read and your web site visited. Other directories appeal to ezine publishers and yet others provide web site content.
* Submit: Whilst it might be tempting to submit to hundreds of article web sites and indeed there are article submitters that allow you to do this, be careful. The ego in us might go for vanity publishing, but many of the article directories provide you with little viewing or uptake of your article. Remember the reason for writing articles is to get them read, your links clicked on and your web site visited – not to be the only one to see your name! Submission is hard work as well – so pick your directories well.
Lastly good luck.
