Autoresponders – Trust Me, I’m A Business Marketer
As spam gets more and more prolific and people get more fed up with their in boxes being bombarded, then it gets harder to prove that your emails are important. You, however have a list people who have subscribed to your ezine or mailing list in order to learn more about your business and products. They are expecting to make this worthwhile – and you in exchange want to profit from all your hard work. So how do you build trust with your existing and potential subscribers?
Permission: Always, always, always get permission. The first part of trust building is to offer a quality item or information in exchange for this permission and deliver this item promptly.
Assurance: Provide assurance on your sign up form or page that you will not sell or misuse their details. Tell them what you will do with their details and keep to that. Have contact details and a privacy statement readily found on your web site. People trust those that respect them privacy and the value of their contact details.
Legitimate Business: Demonstrate that you have a viable and legitimate business. Give you business name, address and contact details.
Expertise: Demonstrate that you know what you are talking about and are an established presence within your market. Get published – using articles on quality article sites. Give clear proof on your web site and in your messages that you know about your subject. Offer to answer questions etc.
Be Truthful: Don’t over hype your business or your products. If you recommend some other people’s stuff then make sure that you have tried them first. The more satisfied customers you get the more people will recommend you. Recommendations are great because these people are easier to sell to.
Don’t Trap People: Make people feel comfortable by giving them a way to unsubscribe. Similarly provide guarantees on your products. This makes people feel more confident in dealing with you.
Lastly treat your subscribers with respect and as the precious business resource that they are. Good Luck!
