Entrepreneurs – Feeling a Little Jaded and Want to Fire up Your Enthusiasm Again?
Ray Kroc (founder of McDonald's) said, "If you work just for the money, you'll never make it, but if you love what you're doing, and always put the customer first, success will be yours."
So first of all revisit all the reasons as to why you started your business in the first place. Write a few of them down and put them into prominent places in your office so that you can easily remember them. Maybe make up a few more.
Pick a few inspirational books from the library or your local book site or shop and take time to read them. Make notes and then add them to your “To Do” list.
Have a little “me time” to enable you to fuel up your own batteries and come back ready to start again.
Review all the great things that your customers have fed back to you. Visit the bad things and plan how to solve these problems.
Plan out where you want your business to be at the end of next year in detail. Set yourself monthly tasks and targets and give yourself a reward each time you reach the target. Aim for at least one target each month and set your rewards for things for you and your business. Think of things like: Sort out your customer database and contact at least 50% of old customers. If you do this then you get to buy the new software you have wanted – or just the afternoon off – you choose.
Lastly remember that times will change, be strong and be determined and with good planning and enthusiasm you have a better chance of getting through this!
