Entrepreneurs – How Not To Make Those Beginners Mistakes That Make Businesses Fail
Well have you actually planned out your business? Written down your goals, designed your products. And do you regularly go back and check how you are doing – making adjustments to keep you on track? Planning and sticking to that plan is essential to success.
Have you also designed all the products and services that you are offering, making sure that you have a range of products to meet most price points with upgrade options. Most importantly, have you done enough research to ensure that people will actually want to buy what you are selling?
Are you treating your new business as a full time business that will not pay very much for a few months? Building a business is like building a house, you need to do a lot of digging of foundations before anything shows. If you find yourself straying and doing other things or jumping from task to task you need to sit down and rethink your working day.
Are you realistic, success is not an overnight thing – no matter what the films and books say. Success only comes after a great deal of hard work, mixed with some good luck. Be enthusiastic and give yourself realistic and achievable goals. A reward for reaching them wouldn’t hurt either.
Are you organized? Can you find the answers to your customer and staff questions? Can you find anything on your desk or computer? Prompt, accurate service is the mainstay of good service, especially on the internet. And don’t you really want to spend less time finding things or playing catch –up?
Are you regularly marketing your business? At the beginning at least 50% of your life is spent chasing customers. If you don’t tell people where your brand new business is and what you sell – how will they find you?
Remember that things will always change, when you plan, plan for change. Don’t let change upset you, just go to plan b or c etc. Be prepared and flexible and you will soon learn to deal with changes and obstacles.
Always think positive – know where you want to be and how to get there! And never, ever quit, learn to adapt like all the great entrepreneurs have! Good luck!
