If you're looking for an effective link building and search engine
optimization strategy, you can't do much better than article marketing.
But it does more than that. I can be a powerful way to build targeted,
ready-to-take-action traffic to your landing pages.
When you submit your article to article directories, you are allowed to include a special paragraph at the end of each article called a "resource box." Inside this box, you can include a link back to your website. But, if you don't present that link in a compelling way, you won't get the traffic you are looking for.
So, once you've grabbed a reader's attention with your article, you want them to read all the way to this last paragraph... and want more. You want them to click through to your website.
Don't make the common mistake of using the resource box for your bio. Readers don't really care who you are as much as they care what you can do for them. Tell them in the resource box!
Your resource box must grab the attention of the reader... just as the title and article did. To do this, you should make them a compelling free offer using key words that speak to why they read your article in the first place.
But I want to sell something, you say. Why a compelling free offer? Because you lure flies better with honey than with vinegar. Don't go for the immediate sale. Offer something related to what you sell for free, capture the reader's name and email address on your landing page and sell to them once they are on your list.
Your resource box is small... so use the space wisely. Capture the attention of your readers with words that promise desired benefits.
This should go without saying, but your compelling offer, your key words -- your entire resource box copy -- has to be related to your landing page. Do not mislead your potential website visitors or your credibility will be destroyed.
Never underestimate the power of the resource box. It may be small in size but it can provide a significant boost to your website traffic.
