Paying it Forward.

You know how it starts; those little muscles in the corner of your mouth mobilize, your teeth to peek from your lips, then...booyah! You're smiling. A smile is like a priceless little charity, or an unexpected warm hug for your face. One of those instant comforts that cost us nothing more than a few moments, but has the ability to softly resound with us for years at a time.

Smiles dog-ear the pages of our favorite memories; maybe it's your child's first toothless grin, or the first time you saw your wife ( a personal favorite). Maybe it's your hometown team finally winning that championship, or a quick grin from that passing stranger just when you think the world is personally raining on you.

While surfing the movie channels last night I came across Pay it Forward, a truly uplifting little film about a 12 year old boy who embarks on a journey to better the world with good deeds. I'd seen the film before, but couldn't help but pause at the simplicity and poignant efforts of the kid and his teacher. It reminded me smiles are a daily opportunity to acknowledge the very beauty in of each of us. An opportunity to pause and remember we actually are all in this together. Because sometimes it's not what you have that makes a difference in someone's day, it's what you give.

Try giving out a smile or two today, I bet you'll get a few back.

All my best,

Jay Kubassek.

(Jay's Full Bio: EvanCarmichael.com/jaykubassek)

In six short years, Canadian entrepreneur Jay Kubassek went from working on a farm to selling mufflers at a Kansas City Midas shop to revolutionizing home-based entrepreneurialism with the 2004 launch of his Internet-based education company CarbonCopyPRO and the PRO family of companies.

With little more than an 8th grade education and no start-up capital, the odds were stacked against him. But Jay has proven that business success and financial freedom can be achieved by virtually anyone who wants it badly enough, provided they are willing to earn it and the entrepreneurial spark is still there.

Best incentive to offer employees Best incentive to offer employees - What's the best incentive to offer employees? Is it more health benefits? More vacation? Health club memberships? Re: Improving Cash Flow Re: Improving Cash Flow - Hi Robert, My advice is to cut unnecessary expenses and save as much as possible. Examine your costs on a month-to-month basis and figure out ways you can save, whether it's buying less at the grocery store, using less electricity, etc. Any little bit will help. The money saved over time will amount to quite a bit. Regarding increasing cash flow through online marketing, this is possible and something I'm working on. At this time last year, I was bringing in only around $50 per month. Forward to today, and I'm bringing in anywhere from $400 to $700 per month. A lot of time and effort has been spent getting to that point and increasing my income over time, but the result is more than worth it. I try to constantly improve what I'm doing and branch out into new avenues to create even more income streams. It is possible to do, but it will take time and work on your part before you start to see the kind of extra cash that you want.
Re: What If Steve Jobs Hadn't Returned To Apple In 1997? Re: What If Steve Jobs Hadn't Returned To Apple In 1997? - Thanks for sharing with us Yinko. Steve Jobs is definitely a visionary. Not only his products are innovative in a technological sense, but he's managed to turn a tech-company's products into a lifestyle.... a lifestyle!! [quote:zfqoq43n]Fast Forward to today. Apple has the sexiest products in the business: iMacs, Macbooks, iPhones, iPods and more.[/quote:zfqoq43n] I think not only tech would be different (music players and phones), but ways we can think of marketing and branding. What Steve Jobs did was of course no easy task for the smaller businesses, but he did start somewhere. What I did not know was that Apple is worth about as much as Google. How do you think Apple accomplish what they did? In terms of strategy wise? If you could advice Steve on one thing, what would it be?

I used to work at a local hospital and we had great benefits, but there were a number of things I just never used. Is it possible to offer several different options? I'm thinking kind of like a cafeteria style insurance plan where you pick the benefits that you need. The initial planning would be a pain, but that way the employees would each be able to chose the benefits that fill their personal and/or family needs. You could also make a list of the sort of things you are thinking about and send out a survey to get thoughts from your people. See what they need and would respond to. Shri
