Social Media Marketing: Viral Marketing Using Bookmarking

You have probably noticed all of the different bookmarking websites throughout the internet. These bookmarking sites such as Squidoo, StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit and others are a great way to market your website by posting SEO articles as well as links.

Bookmarks are easy to place. You can do this yourself and also have others help you. For example, if you have an SEO article that you want publicized about your website, you can place a link to the article on any of the bookmaking sites. This allows for more people to spot the article and even rate it. Most of the bookmarking sites are not just for bookmarking but socializing as well. Sites like Digg rate users and send shouts.

Your SEO articles are usually rated on bookmarking sites by how much attention they attract. Articles that are rated the highest get the most attention on the site. It is important for you to have as many people as you know rate the articles so that they can be displayed prominently on the bookmarking website.

To get a bookmaking account, you need only create a username as well as a password. These sites are free and a great way for you not only to post links, but also use blogs. StumbleUpon, for example, has unlimited lenses that you can create. These are webpages in which you can tell all about yourself or your business and they are totally free. You can create a blog and continue to update it with SEO content on a daily basis to draw attention to your website, which can be linked to your profile.

There are many different ways to use social bookmarking sites to promote your website, brand or ideas. Many bands use these sites to promote their videos which they have displayed on their bookmarking pages and also link their videos to the bookmarking sites. The best aspect of using the bookmarking sites is that you can use it more than one way for promotion.

If you have a website, open a free account at as many bookmarking sites as possible. Bookmark your SEO articles that are posted on the internet to these sites and get others to rate them so that they receive more attention. Then use the blogging spaces to promote your ideas with either video or SEO related content for your website or brand.

You might expect to have to pay money for such two way promotion, but these sites are 100 percent free. You do not have anything to lose by promoting your articles on these sites, but you do have everything to gain. By bookmarking SEO articles, you can create your own stir about your website all by yourself.

When it looks as if everyone is talking about a particular website, everyone will be curious as to what the commotion is about. This is the concept of viral marketing. You can create your own marketing campaign and your own stir by simply promoting your content on social bookmarking sites.
