16 Best Business BlackBerry Applications

Here's our list of the 16 best business BlackBerry applications (five stars on BlackBerry AppWorld and/or received rave reviews elsewhere):

1. WorldMate Live

Travel application.

This is an all-in-one application for the business traveller and has had excellent reviews. It includes automatic itineraries, maps and navigation, smart hotel search, calendar synch, weather forecasts and currency conversion.

The Gold (paid) version adds automatic alerts when flights are delayed and cancelled, real-time flight status for over 350 airlines, one-click access to flight schedules, travel directory with airline, airport, hotel and phone info, and Outlook integration as a free add-on.

2. Tetherberry

TetherBerry allows your PC to take advantage of your Blackberry's data plan, allowing you to access the Internet on your laptop anywhere there is cellular coverage from your BlackBerry.

3. Google Mobile Updater for BlackBerry

If you ever wondered how to synchronize your BlackBerry with Google mail or Google calendar, look no further. Google Mobile Updater is a Google programme that lets you install Google Docs, Gmail, Maps, News, Picasa, Reader, Search, and Sync (you can choose which ones you want). The Sync app (not surprisingly) is the one that synchronizes contacts and calendar. (Read Google's warnings before you download it, and back up first.)

Allows you to accept credit cards and electronic checks, send email receipts and see all reports online 24/7 in real time.

5. My Caption Email Dictation

Voice-to-text application

If you dislike typing with your thumbs, however opposable, try this very cool voice-to-text application. It synchronizes with emails, calendar, note, memo and task entries in Outlook, Google Apps and Lotus notes, and works with the BES. You can review text before sending. It’s accurate and secure, and has had very good reviews.

6. CallNotes

Task management & calendar application

Lets you add call notes, tasks or appointments to the Calendar application. Synchronizes with Outlook.

7. Salesforce Mobile

Mobile access to Salesforce.

Mobile version of the popular Salesforce software.

Mobile Web browser that improves on the BlackBerry's built-in Web interface.

9. RDM Plus: Remote Desktop for Mobiles
