Hi friends..I am siva kumar,basically I am
an engineering student from India and now I am working in Indian
Institute of Technology as project associate. My interest is too built robots
which are helpful in real time basis and
my other interest is to share my knowledge to others who needs it urgently. So i want to share one

When I started my career in engineering i was not 100% confident in what I was studying
because the training given by my college is useless. But there is no point to
complaint about this matter because no one cares about this. So I started

- Hi Forum Members,
I'm helping start up a Business Coaching and Consulting company here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (a Subsidiary of RSC Business in Los Angeles).
As a Research and Development Intern I am required to practice my listening and interview skills by surveying Small and Medium Businesses on thier Business.
This Survey is designed by RSC Business to also assist the Business being interviewed more insight into their own business.
I am looking to interview about 30 businesses across North America over the span of 3 months.
At the end of these interviews I will be publishing a report of the results and they will be made available for free to the Interviewees. The Report data will include responses from a minimum of 100 interviews.

Open or Closed....Questions in a Survey
- The challenge with questions is that if you leave them too open, people submit lazy responses. But if you only offer a multiple choice, people pick one, but that might not be what they really want to choose.
In order to effectively work around this, it is important for you to really figure out what you want to know. If you think open ended questions will be better, consider hiring a telemarketing firm to execute the survey.
If multiple choice is easier or better, based on your audience (size and personality) consider adding an 'other' line or box and allow people to write their own responses. Try it with a small test batch first.
Multiple questions can be effective, but if you give away the answers, or in effect push people to the answers, your data wont be useful at all.
There are many people highly skilled in executing survey's and collecting market research, so if you have a large amount of data that you need to collect, consider outsourcing this element.
It might cost you some resources up front, but its an investment in your idea.

Global discussion forums content storage - how to use it?
- Imagine that I have a magic parser that can parse discussion forums like this one and save this data in a huge DB in a structured way. It means there will be tables: forum, subject, post, etc., populated with data from forums. So I will have a kind of global storage of structured forum data.
Now the question is how can I use it? Is there a way to earn money on this?
Here are some ideas:
1) a web site that allows users to browse information from hundreds of forums in one place in a unified way
2) set up a service that allows to subscribe updates from different forums at once.
3) just provide access to this database for other 3-d party companies or webmasters, SEO specialists.... will anyone need this?
Most of all I am curious about the last options...
What else?

Re: Suspicious/Problematic Users
- One good way to spot who the spammers are on a forum, even if their posts look legit, is to look at the information in their profile to the right of each post...
Legit users will have it filled out with real information and you can usually tell they took at least a little time to do it.
Spammers will typically have one word answers to each question, or no words at all. Sometimes they just have "fdjafk" or whatever gibberish as the answers. That is a dead give away to delete them.
