A Small Step to Greening Your Business- The iPhone Digital Business Card

Today business phone numbers, positions, and the addition of social network links or names is changing quickly, a business could spend excessive amounts of money on new business cards or risk giving out business cards that are outdated. There is an option to ensure your contact has your most recent information, will save your business money, and be one small step in getting your business to go green by using a digital business card.

SnapDat is a free iphone application that allows you to have a digital business card that looks like a traditional business card but with more punch. The SnapDat digital business card app allows you to fully customize a digital business card with your company logo, a picture, or a custom design.

The application sends a digital file as an image and also a .vcf file which allows them to add the contact information to their business address book.

The program allows you to add all of your contact phone numbers, email addresses, links to your website, and twitter and facebook pages. It is truly a business card to today's business professional.

If you are going to a business conference using a digital business card will save you money, save paper, and ensure the people you meet remember you and have your contact information at the ready.

The great part is if you meet someone at an event you can immediately email them your digital business card with a note and know they are not going to lose it or toss it. All you need is their email address. And you can customize a message specifically to them. You can even email it to yourself as well so it will be in your email program and you can follow up when the time comes.

I am getting ready to go to a conference where I will likely speak to 200+ people and I plan to use SnapDat to send my digital business card to most of them. My paper business card will get lost in the shuffle with the other 100 cards they collect but this way I will be top of mind and on their phone or computer ready for them to add to their contact list.

The feature is a great way to send your contact information and your business card.

It will help more of us green our business practices by printing less business cards.

You are able to email your SnapDat digital business card, or share it on Facebook, or Twitter.

For a free iphone app this is definitely one worth downloading. To start using SnapDat, go to your itunes account and search SnapDat. Once you download it you can get started right away.

New Study - Women prepare better business plans New Study - Women prepare better business plans - I found an article in Business Week and I found this quite interesting. [quote:ka7lg35i]Who Prepares Better Business Plans, Men or Women? A new study based on four years of data from men and women in a training program for microenterprises finds that they come out the same in quality scores. "However, women scored significantly better on the presentation of their plan to judges," conclude the study's authors, Ronald G. Cook, Paul Belliveau, and Christine Lentz of Rider University, in a paper presented at a recent meeting of the Small Business Institute. [/quote:ka7lg35i] What do you guys think?
