Call Handling - What Steps An Answering Service Goes Through To Handle Your Calls

Call handling is how the call center or answering service handles inbound customer requests (including contact center requests via phone, email, live web chat, etc.). There is a process to call handling that is a basic framework. Each account , and it changes depending on when the call is fielded. The first step of call handling is the actual handler takes the call, notes the severity and area of expertise of the question, and forwards it to the proper representative. This person is usually inside the call center, fielding calls during or after business hours, and needs to know the sections of the company inside and out.

Once the call has been forwarded, either an automated system or a call center representative picks up and talks to the caller. This is where a bulk of the call is attended to and where most questions are answered. This step can be to whatever section of the company the caller needs to inquire about, or even to a sales representative for an order. These are the call representatives that will make the bulk of your money for you over the phone.

Finally, if needed, a caller can be forwarded to an actual representative of the business, for in depth analysis or a very specific question. This is for questions about specifics within the business, which can not be answered by one of our call center representatives. In these cases the question will be answered and then the person will probably be redirected to a call center representative or the call handler.

So, call handling is a practice used by a call center to mimic how you handle calls in your own office. The call handling practices are a template system where your needs are superimposed on the existing system to create your own personalized custom account. It allows for certain call center representatives to become experts in a certain aspect of the business, which in turn gives the consumer a more informative and articulate staff. This will help your consumers to better navigate, without a large spike in your budget.

Re: Service Or Product? Re: Service Or Product? - I agree with starting a Service-based Business in the economy. Here is what I think is critical: 1. Researching that your Service business has a market. 2. Marketing the Service with as much leverage as possible. 3. Product-izing the Service (aka Package Expert Knowledge). This will only help elevate you as "the" expert in your niche and make you accessible to people in different price points.
Who Said Twitter Doesn't Work...? Who Said Twitter Doesn't Work...? - Last month, the BBC World Service programme, The Strand, featured 21 year-old Icelandic pianist/composer Olafur Arnalds. Arnalds achieved extraordinary success through his internet-led project to compose 7 tunes in 7 days, post them on his website and then post links to it via TWITTER. As a result his website got thousands of visitors eager to listen to his music, catapulting him to fame and bringing his music to the attention of the BBC, who featured an interview with him on the World Service programme, The Strand! So who says Twitter doesn't work? (HINT: It does help if you have something uniquely your own that other people want to get hold of...)
Hiring the best people for the job Hiring the best people for the job - One of the hardest things I had to do as an entrepreneur was to give up control over a project to someone else. Currently, I am having a professional design my website for me. Sure I can do it myself, or hire someone to do it how I tell them, but what would I learn? Handling the technological side of the business is not my strong suit, so i had to find someone who knew more about the subject than I did and also has done what I want to do before. It has been a learning experience, and the great thing about it is it frees me up to do what I do best in my business, and letting someone else do what they do best. I have been brought up with the mindset that [i:vazquuoz]if you want it done right you [/i:vazquuoz][i:vazquuoz]have to do it yourself[/i:vazquuoz]. I am slowly but surely weening myself away from that mindset and learning how to delegate more effectively. Now I am extremely selective on who I hire, and my goal is to surround myself around people who are smarter than myself in their area of expertise.
Re: need pricing help please Re: need pricing help please - I agree that allowing customers to choose digital or physical product delivery is a good idea. If you are handling large volumes of orders then outsourcing the process is an excellent idea. Handling physical orders yourself is a demanding occupation, as I know from experience, but on the other hand, if you are doing it on a small scale it also gives you some good opportunities to personalize your service with hand written compliment notes and so forth. Also, you can learn a lot from your customers if you deal with them through every part of the sales process. Once sales volume picks up, outsource the operation - you'll probably save money as well as time. DH
