There are hundreds of call centers in the United States and thousands throughout the world. While many call centers struggle to stay afloat and prosper in the difficult economy, the top call centers are thriving. More and more companies are beginning to utilize a call center, as a way to outsource their labor, and save money. While the call center business is experiencing record growth, the growth is not across the board. While many centers find the economy daunting, the top call centers. The top call centers are thriving because of the demise of traditional advertising methods and the advent of Google search terms for marketing purposes. In the past, answering services and call centers have found business by advertising in the yellow pages or in industry periodicals. Since the popularity of these forms of advertising has virtually disappeared, the top call centers have been able to survive by being on the top of the Google search engines. Since there are limited spaces available on the first page of Google, only the strong have been able to survive and only the top call centers have continued to grow.

Google is a tool that the top call centers utilize to get visitors and capture inquires. Google is the most widely used search engine in the world. Google does many things exceptionally well. Google search results enable the user to move quickly to the desired page. The search results pages load almost instantly and are not slowed by graphics, and photos. Google's results are easy to decipher, easy to read and easy to scan. While many search sites are graphic filled and gimmicky, Google is simple and straightforward. In addition, Google search results are extremely accurate. Google is always devising new tools. These tools are helpful in integrating searching alongside other Web services. Google offers several features, such as Google Desktop. Google Desktop has the ability to search your computer's hard disk in the same way that Google's search engine searches the internet.

The top call centers understand the need to be on the top of the various search engines. Contact centers have become very internet based, yet only a handful has mastered the art of search engine marketing. The change in call center marketing has created a gap between the top call centers and the rest of the pack.

I'm sure people write in and complain and suggest new features for various things they buy... and if those changes are implemented that's all well and good, but the person who made the suggestion for the improvment isn't going to get paid for it. How does one suggest these improvements - and get paid for them? ----long story One of the best things the PC did (at least, Dell) was to color code all their little plugs, so you know that the green plug goes into the green hole, the pink into the pink, etc. Makes setting up those things a heckuva lot easier! I was thinking that the same thing should be done for today's TVs! I've had a new TV for a few weeks, set up next to my computer because I like to work and watch TV at the same time. But I've got it set up in such a way that I can't see all the little buttons on the top of the screen, which are the buttons for Stop, Play, Eject (for the internal DVD) , the Volume up and down, and the Channel up and down. Of course, that wasn't a problem when my remote control worked, but for some reason it stopped working a couple of weeks ago. (Yes, I replaced the battery - no good). Since I have the TV so close to my computer it's no problem, I can reach out and touch the buttons... But because they're all the same color, I had to actually get up and look at them to make sure I was pressing the right button. I've solved that problem by attaching a bit of yellow paper to the Play button, and a bit of orange paper to the Volume Up button. Makes things a lot easier...

I answer my phone I answer my phone - when I worked in the Call Center we had to say "Good XXXXXX, Andy speaking, How may I help you?" imagine saying that over and over again. It kind of sticks with you. It's been a few years now but I've kicked off "How may I help you?" part.
Money I made while in School Money I made while in School - While in university I did have a Student Loan (still paying that bugger off) and had a part-time job as a Call Center agent (inbound). *Canada* I also designed websites (outsourced all the work). I just worked on getting new customers, managed the projects to completion and helped create Marketing Plans for my clients (Online and Offline). *Canada* When I was studying the in the States I also made some money as a Part-time Flight instructor. *USA*
