Forgot Windows Admin Password? It is truly regularly that computer users have a tendency to forget windows administrator password? So how can we login to Windows system such as Windows 7, vista, XP, 2008, 2003, NT if you forgot administrator password? Many people maybe said: I will ask an administrator to recover the login password. But if you yourself are administrator and you can't remember the administrator password, how can you get out of such tricky problem without formatting and re-installing the operating system.

Here a few ways you can try to Recover Windows Password to gain access to the system again, at least by recovering the password.

Method 1: Trying hard to remember the forgotten password

The first method of recovering windows password is trying your best to remember the forgotten password. So take a rest and after a while, we may suddenly found that we have remembered the forgotten Windows password. However I don't think this method can help most people who forgetting windows password. Otherwise there wouldn't be so many people asking for windows password recovery solution on the Internet.

Method 2: Restore a backed up system state or an ERD

Another method of recovering windows password is trying to restore a backed up system state or an ERD. But the system restore will erase all of the recently add users, groups and any applications installed after the date and time of the restore point. And all of the changed administrator and user account passwords since the last backup was made.

Method 3: Try No Password default Administrator account login

A third method of recovering windows password is trying to login with the default administrator account. In Windows XP, there is built-in Administrator user account that many people are totally unaware of, which is auto generated when install and without any password protected. If you didn't change this Administrator's password, then try to sign in to your Windows system and reset the forgotten windows password.

Method 4: Reset windows password from another user account with administrator privileges

If you have another user account that has administrative privileges, follow these steps on how to recover windows password:

1. Log on to Windows by using an administrator account that has a password that you remember. You may need to start Windows XP in safe mode.

2. Click Start, and then click Run.

3. In the Open box, type "control userpasswords″, and then click OK.

4. Click the user account that you forgot the password for, and then click Reset Password.

5. Type a new password in both the new password and the Confirm new password boxes, and then click OK.





Method 5: Using a password reset disk

IF you were smart and have created a password reset disk before, then you can use this disk to recover the forgotten Windows password, follow these steps on how to recover windows password:

1. Click use your password reset disk. The Password Reset Wizard starts. The Password Reset Wizard allows you to create a new password for your user account. Then click Next.

2. Insert newly created password reset disk into drive A, and then click Next.

3. Type a new password in the Type a new password box, and then confirm the password.

4. In the Type a new password hint box, type a hint to remind you of your password if you forget the new password.

5. Click Next, and then click Finish. The Password Reset Wizard quits, and you return to the Windows XP logon screen.





Method 6: Try Third party password recovery Software

Windows password recovery software are used to recover/reset/remove the local user account and administrator passwords and they are often called as "password cracker" as they are sometimes used to crack the windows password by hackers. Below are the most famous password recovery tools I found:

Re: What are your February Goals? - Hi Evan, Thanks for the feedback. I did wonder about those arrows, and the lack of a headline. I should probably add a headline and a set of arrows pointing to the Windows download button, then have the Mac option placed below it without arrows. Actually, if you had gone the "Mac" route on Windows you would have downloaded a pdf file, so no worries. Mac users, however, can't open exe files (unless they use OSX etc and have a Windows partition on their hard-drive). I'm still experimenting with download methods - the boomerang method / standard squeeze page download / splash page direct download without needing to join my list...
Re: A picture (video) is worth a thousand words.... - Phil, I switched to Mac leopard last year. I love it. It can also handle Windows on a separate hard-drive, so you get the best of both worlds. And if you are keen on doing more with video technology MAC is DEFINITELY the way to go. However, a note of caution - I have no intention of "upgrading" to Snow Leopard, which sounds bad. Also, on the Windows side, I chose XP rather than Vista.
