Not create yet? Just insert a blank floppy disk to the drive, and click "Start"->"Control Panel"->"User Accounts and Family Safety"->"User account". And then click "Create a password reset disk" in the task pane on the left. Click "next" when the "Forgotten Password Wizard" window appears. Specify the media drive and continue to click "next" until the burning progress indicator shows 100%.

OK, it’s time for this password reset disk to act. When you type the wrong password, you will be noticed that get the wrong password. Click "OK" to see "Reset password" option. Insert the disk and click "reset password". A "password Reset Wizard" Window appears, follow it and type the new password twice. Done!

Method 2: Utilize password hint

For most of us, we are not so prudent to make a password reset disk in advance. So there is another way to show your good memory. Just click "hint" right beside the prompt where you type in the password on the Welcome Screen. Explore your memory to remember anything related to with the hint. One of those may be your password.

Method 3: Windows 7 Password Finder Software

Compared with the two methods above, Windows 7 Password Finder is more flexible and easier. No need to jog your memory, no need to prepare in advance. You can easily reset Windows 7 password even after you forgot the password.

The steps are also simple, so why not follow me to see how it works:

Step 1: Here we need another computer to burn password reset disk. Insert a blank CD on this PC, and launch Windows 7 Password Cracker.

Step 2: Select "reset Windows local account password", and tick "CD/DVD" and choose your target device.

Step 3: Click "burn" to start the Windows 7 password reset disk burning.

Step 4: From this CD, boot the computer for which you lost the log-in password. And then choose the system you would like to reset password for.

Step 5: Highlight target account, and click "reset". And confirm your reset by click "Yes" and "OK" in the next text boxes. The last step you need to do is to reboot your PC to active the action.

Re: Wordpress Password & Username Recovery - I know it's not very secure... but I use the same password for all my online stuff (placing a 1 in front of it in those places where they insist you have a password with letters and numbers), and I've never forgotten a password yet. As for screennames, I keep them written in a small notebook by my computer - along with their password (even though it's always the same one.) But then, I work out of my home and don't need to worry about a co-worker or worker bee coming in and stealing my stuff... What's really annoying is Norton Utilities, which upgrades itself periodically without telling me about any new features. It used to be all my screennames and passwords for various sites were stored onsite, I'd just pull up the page, hit enter, and get in. Now, I guess all my cookies are automatically removed after each session, so I have to typie in screenname and password each time. And there's no way to get them re-saved! Irks me no end...

Re: What are your February Goals? - Hi Evan, Thanks for the feedback. I did wonder about those arrows, and the lack of a headline. I should probably add a headline and a set of arrows pointing to the Windows download button, then have the Mac option placed below it without arrows. Actually, if you had gone the "Mac" route on Windows you would have downloaded a pdf file, so no worries. Mac users, however, can't open exe files (unless they use OSX etc and have a Windows partition on their hard-drive). I'm still experimenting with download methods - the boomerang method / standard squeeze page download / splash page direct download without needing to join my list...

I personally have found Twitter to be more effective. Although, I do think my efforts on Facebook have not been as efficient as what I've been able to do on Facebook -- I find FB harder to navigate and set up. If you were a whiz at FB, you might have better results there. Bottom line--there isn't a definitive answer, so use what you find easiest and go from there -- that's my advice!
