How to insert a contact us form using your Joomla administration panel

1. Sign in to your Joomla adminstration panel.Go to components above in your panel and scroll down until you come to Contacts and choose Categories from the dropdown menu.

2. All that you realy need to do here is to fill in the Title as lets say Web Administrator, and just copy and paste this into the editor.Leave everything else as it is and click on save.

3. Go to components above in your control panel again, and scroll down to contacts, and this time choose Contacts from the dropdown menu.

4. UNDER DETAILS : Just fill out your name.

UNDER INFORMATION : CONTACT POSITION = Just fill in Website Administrator

UNDER EMAIL : Just fill in your system email address, which should also be your hosting email address.Fill out all the other relevant information on the left hand side also, but don't worry because you can change this data at any time in the future. All we want here is a functional contact us form.

5.On the right hand side of this page you will see :

CONTACT PARAMETERS :

Just fill this out as best you can in terms of what you want the user to see.The default parameters in fact will work nicely here, so don't change anything here. You can also change anything here later if need be.So no worries.

ADVANCED PARAMETERS : Choose Icons from the dropdown menu and find the right icon for (1) Address icon (2) Email icon (3) Telephone icon (4) Mobile icon (5) Fax icon.To find the right icon for each just look for them in the dropdown menu.

EMAIL PARAMETERS : Just leave all these as they are, but do make sure that EMAIL FORM is ticked as SHOW.

6.Now go to MENU in your control panel and select NEW.Go to contacts and choose STANDARD CONTACTS LAYOUT.The TITLE should be filled out as contact us and leave all the other default values as they are on the left hand side of the page.

6.On the right hand side of the page you will see :

PARAMETERS BASIC - SELECT CONTACT You will now already see your created contact, so select it.Leave all other parameters as they are and then just clickon save and your done. You will now see your menu item and contact us form on your website.

Re: Joomla Now Has A GetResponse Module Re: Joomla Now Has A GetResponse Module - Hi Kevin, Interesting that you tried Joomla and then gave up on it. So did I! There is a lot to be said for Joomla. It can make your site look very professional, you can completely change design in just a few clicks of your mouse, and if you add anything to a panel you can display it throughout your site... Also, Joomla does seem to suck in traffic. My traffic stats improved with Joomla, probably because of the interactive features it offers, such as the article directory feature and so on. However, I also experienced various frustrations with Joomla. HTML is simpler and you have complete control over your site, but you do have to recode every page when you make design changes... (unless you are prepared to learn CSS and then deal with all the browser problems...) Also, I market the Plug-In Profits Site and came to the conclusion that it would be better business practice to show my potential customers what can be done with a Plug-In Profits site by using one myself and modifying it to suit my purposes. After all, there is no better advertisement for a product than the fact that the seller also uses it! On the other hand, I know a lot of Internet marketers who love Joomla, so I think it is just a matter of choosing what works best for you. ... And if you like Joomla and use the GetResponse autoresponder service, life just got easier for you! David H
Re: Internaltional coaching business from Morocco SOS Stress ! Re: Internaltional coaching business from Morocco SOS Stress ! - Hi Fays, Your website looks very nice and clean. I have 2 suggestions: 1 - Right now your home page is the contact page, I think it will be better to write an introduction on the home page, and explain what it stress management, and offer the free trail. 2- On the contact page, it is not safe to give your email, insert a contact form, with your email hidden, it will reduce the spam you receive.
Re: Joomla Now Has A GetResponse Module Re: Joomla Now Has A GetResponse Module - Hi guys, I just wanted to give my 2 cents on this subject as I am a Joomla enthusiast. I have 3 different Joomla sites and they all perform great, although they sometimes load a bit slowly. My main site went up drastically in the search engines after I converted it to Joomla. About the GetResponse module: Unfortunately, it's only compatible with Joomla 1.0, so for anyone like me who has the latest version, I doesn't work. Have a great day, everyone!
Joomla Knowledge Joomla Knowledge - Hi ImpactAthlete How did you teach yourself on customizing Joomla? Was it trial and error or did you use books or a class? I've tried using Joomla but I'd say it would take me days to customise a Joomla website, maybe I should just give it ago! Thanks!
