Recover Hard Drive Files Now

Need to recover hard drive data that has seemed to have disappeared on you? Are you in a panic because a file you were working on is lost, or because your system won't start? Whatever your case of data loss, it is key to know that the first 15 minutes after your hard drive fails or file is lost is unbelievably critical to whether or not you can technically recover that data at all. Now is not the time to freak out! In fact, panic can mean the difference between a fully recovered hard disk drive, and a data-less issue. Even if you're not prepared for a problem data loss situation, it isn't the end of the world. Being prepared with your files and data is the number one cure for data loss, and here's a fine way to start:

1. Staying Calm Under Pressure - It isn't going to be easy, that much we can say for sure, but ensuring that you don't let panic get the best of you is the best route to take when faced with a scenario where you must recover hard drive data. If you're missing a file, take a moment to recall what you were doing when that file got lost. Do the same thing if you suspect your OS will not boot because your hard drive has crashed. Although your scenario may make it look like all is lost, take a deep breath. Only the rarest situations make data unrecoverable, and yours is unlikely to be one of them.

2. Don't Bother With Data Recovery Software, Run From Utilities - Are you an experienced user of data recovery software? If so, no problem. But if you're in a panic and are looking for "that answer", anything that claims to recover hard drive data back to where it was, pause for a moment. Realize that data recovery software is a very dubious game. Developers who market this application make their living profiting from the fear and panic of panicked people. Ask yourself this: is there a cash back guarantee? Will the shop be liable and pay you for lost data? Both questions are aclassic no. Don't waste your money. And as for utility software, realize that in data recovery circles, these are known as data killers. The fact is, these programs aren't specifically made for data recovery purposes, so why use them for that purpose?

3. Trust An Expert - One of the things many of us prefer not to do in this age of chat and fast online contact is to actually use a phone. The fact is, nine out of ten hard drive recovery developers have a toll-free line staffed by people who help people recover hard drive files and data every single day of the week. Tapping into this experience is free, and can certainly help chill you out in the event that the data is a little more "mission critical" than a few family pictures and some old IMs. The worst that can occur with a professional on the line is that you at least figure out a direction to go in. Shouldn't you consider this?

Hard disks fail everyday, and partitions and files disappear everyday. Your situation is one that many others have experienced, and then recovered from. As long as you know that your ability to recover hard drive data is based on how you act once the data is lost, you'll be fine.

Re: Picking an external hard drive to backup my files Re: Picking an external hard drive to backup my files - So I ended up buying a Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini 250GB External Hard Drive from TigerDirect.ca for $97.99. While I wasn't able to get the pre-installed software to work on my computer for whatever reason... I was still able to transfer all 14 GB of my personal files via the old fashioned "copy" and "paste" method. Hopefully this won't compromise the safety of my stored data.
