Canvas photo prints

The canvas print is often know as either giclee canvas printing or you can have photos printed on canvas two which tends to be marginally more popular in today wall hanging category. If you were to canvas artwork for instance and have reproduced printing then this is also called giclee canvas printing as well as having any type of image printed to.

Canvas printing has been around for decades but its more around the time of the 1990s which is where canvas printing has been more associated with either dye sublimation or an inkjet printing process.

You can get a large format printer these days that will print on a roll which is 60 inches wide which is very big indeed. This is when you have a canvas roll and feed into your printer to print off the image or artwork that you want framed which then makes your canvas print. A good example would be the Epson Stylus Pro 9880. It one of the top range large format printers and give exceptional printing for canvas material and other printing materials alike. Its printer like these that allow artists and photographers to print their own work to save having to outsource it elsewhere.

Once the canvas photo or artwork is printed it is then taken to a table and is the trimmed down to size ready to be mounted and stapled to a wooden stretcher bars frame, either gallery or standard frame depth.

A good effect for some canvas photo prints would be to have the image wrapped around the frame, this effect is called full bleed or you could have the image mirrored if your not to keen on losing too much of the image around the sides. Another way to have them printed so you don't loose the image would be to have the image printed on the face of the canvas and to have the sides of the frame plain white canvas which is a good look and saves any image being lost to. A similar method is to have the image on the face of the canvas print but to have the sides a different color to match your own home decor and colures, i.e. black and white canvas prints look brilliant with black sides.

What to name your business? What to name your business? - I chose Omnivore Ink basically because in surfing the web I came across a photo of a piranha (which I now use as my avatar) and thought...that's pretty cool...can I make use of that? Then I thought, well, I do just about any writing type of work imaginable, and my interests are widespread, so why not call myself Omnivore Ink. So it was seeing the photo that suggested the idea for the name...not the other way around.
Re: A new product line Re: A new product line - Thankyou for taking the time to check out my website & for posting a lengthy reply!! It is very much appreciated. I have a special ablity to walk into any market and immidiately spot symptoms of a potential oppertunity , which start flashing up at me. So when I started painting & selling online I suddenly got funnelled down into this process of trial & error, coming up with the ultimate designs for my target market. I seem to beable to (& with ease) break any product or service down to its bones and see what about it sells. So in terms of colour, subject matter, use of materials, content, method... it is all carefully thought out, all combining to produce a product that when I put it down in front of someone they say I don't know what it is about this, but I really like it! Thankyou for your thoughts on using a mass distributer (already with a huge list of customers). I have considered this, but the only problem is that this method is out of line with my goal of having a major wholesale fine art prints company. So maybe I am taking on too much. Number 1 I want to get these prints all over the country (& abroad) before they go out of fashion. But I also want to have this company that I speak of. So maybe it is too much to ask for both at the same time. I do have real determination. So maybe this will allow to accomplish both things. Although it would be much easier to just go through a distributer.... hmm, I guess it comes down to a choice. Thanks again for your help. Kind regards, Dale Gallagher, New Zealand Artist
Do you do color business Card??? Do you do color business Card??? - Do you do color business cards? How does it work, do I upload a PDF of my business card then your company prints them out and mails them to me? The best business cards that I've ever got was when our Japanese graphic artist designed the front logo of the cards and we got them printed out at Staples.
Re: Aviation logo Re: Aviation logo - [quote="OmnivoreInk":1k4c7dot] >>>It was hard to tell because the logo is a little too faded/transparent. I deliberately faded the photo because I thought a crisp and dark one would distract from the text around it. Anyone else think an unfaded photo would be better? Thanks, Buzz! Anyone else?[/quote:1k4c7dot] It might be a bit too faded. I tilted my laptop screen to see if that's why it looked so light, but no angle helped. I wouldn't make it as dark as the type, but it could be somewhat darker and that would make the details more obvious. Chris
The time I spend collecting The time I spend collecting - Hi Kevin, to address your questions, honestly, I do not spend a lot of time or even money on regular basis. I've been collecting these items for about 8 years now. The way I collect is basically in my spare "I have nothing to do" time and when (or if) I happen to come accross a piece I like, I purchase it. Some of the items were gift given, like most of the Angels I've collected, while others just fell into my lap such as my 6 ft cardboard figure of Marilyn Monroe that came from my neighbor and best friend down the block from me. She happened upon it in a store and saw they were going to toss it out and she asked if she could have it...they simply gave it to her and she pasased it on. Other items I do search for when I have the time. I've even come across some pictures that I adore and printed them on my photo printer on photo paper and framed them. You can't tell they were just printed from the computer.
