Have you ever thought about painting your own masterpiece?

Painting on canvas can be extremely fun. Especially if you’re an art lover, even if you don’t know how to paint and you’re not much of an artist then the feeling of sitting down painting on that beautiful woven textured canvas makes you feel like an artist in its prime. When you have decided the master peace you’re going to make then you will have to decide which type of paint you’re going to use to create your canvas artwork. A couple you have to choose from would be acrylic paint, water colour, oil paint. Whichever one you decide to use they all have their different qualities and different ways to apply them which you may have to look up if you’re not much of an artist to begin with. Once you have the paint you want then it’s time to buy your canvas and get to work on your masterpiece, you will need to make sure you have everything right at your side for ease when painting, i.e. you would need all your colours and quantities and you would need some water at your side for cleaning your brush with, and of course you need to make sure if your painting from a real life object or a landscape view you need to make sure you sitting in the right place for the best possible picture, try to imagine what you’re looking at as a canvas picture before you start. And if you don’t like that angle then just move a little until you have everything you want in view for your canvas artwork to have the best possible outcome. You have to remember not to rush your work, no artist unless your abstracting paints very fast its something you have to become one with and try to perfect as that what’s it all comes down to is perfection. It would most probably best suite you especially if you’re a beginner to painting to take it very slowly and once you get yourself into a rhythm you will find that your starting to enjoy the world of art and you then begin to see your canvas artwork unfold in front of your eyes. Now that you’re an expert and you’re very comfortable with your artwork then there is always the option to have your artwork printed onto canvas prints. By doing so you can share your artwork with as many people you wish to without having to spend a lot of time trying to perfect the masterpiece again, unless that is what you enjoy to do then but you may find that once you have painted it once you will want to paint another picture and start another journey in the world of art.

Re: What's your Business, Ladies? Re: What's your Business, Ladies? - It was interesting reading about all of your businesses! I do business and relationship coaching for ambitious young professionals in Manhattan. I've been doing coaching since 2005. Before that, I was a freelance writer and wrote marketing materials. I also create painting which I sell online, but I've been too busy to paint for a while. I found that I really loved coaching the most, though I will always enjoy writing/painting just for myself. I find working with people one-on-one to be really energizing and inspiring. Tami, I'm curious how you got into coaching?
Artist vs Biz Owner Artist vs Biz Owner - I think there is a fine line between "artists" and "business owners". Artists begin with their passion and self expression and try to find a market for it. e.g. I like painting flowers and I think people out there like flowers too so that is what I am going to sell. This is where hard-selling starts and the starving-artist persona. Business Owners (who can be artists too) first find out wants and needs in the market and deliver that. e.g. Ashley may have noticed that MySpace had some real yukky backgrounds and thought I can do better - then filled that need. would love if Ashley were on this site too...

Re: A new product line Re: A new product line - Thankyou for taking the time to check out my website & for posting a lengthy reply!! It is very much appreciated. I have a special ablity to walk into any market and immidiately spot symptoms of a potential oppertunity , which start flashing up at me. So when I started painting & selling online I suddenly got funnelled down into this process of trial & error, coming up with the ultimate designs for my target market. I seem to beable to (& with ease) break any product or service down to its bones and see what about it sells. So in terms of colour, subject matter, use of materials, content, method... it is all carefully thought out, all combining to produce a product that when I put it down in front of someone they say I don't know what it is about this, but I really like it! Thankyou for your thoughts on using a mass distributer (already with a huge list of customers). I have considered this, but the only problem is that this method is out of line with my goal of having a major wholesale fine art prints company. So maybe I am taking on too much. Number 1 I want to get these prints all over the country (& abroad) before they go out of fashion. But I also want to have this company that I speak of. So maybe it is too much to ask for both at the same time. I do have real determination. So maybe this will allow to accomplish both things. Although it would be much easier to just go through a distributer.... hmm, I guess it comes down to a choice. Thanks again for your help. Kind regards, Dale Gallagher, New Zealand Artist
