Photography in many people's eyes is classed as artwork,, reason being is because the photographer is trying to perfect that one picture by taking lots of images were as when you have a painting it seems to be the same concept, i.e. trying to perfect the picture but very slowly,

I'm an artist myself, I like to paint in my spare time but for a job I'm a canvas artwork printer, also i print photos on canvas for my customers, canvas printing is also one of the perfectionist type jobs that can take time but the end result is well worth it.

When producing these types of artwork you need to make sure you have the right tools, with the photography it would be the right camera the right model or scenery and background,, as with a painting you need the object or scenery , paints and of coarse something to paint, maybe canvas would be a good choice. And then with the canvas printing you need the right printer ink jet canvas and tools to work with,

Art is something we all love in the world today, some of the old painting like da Vinci or van Gogh obviously have a huge impact on the world for their own important reasons and painting styles were as some world famous photographer like Yousuf Karsh for his picture of Winston Churchill, and you also have a high impact on us all as does the the famous Steve McCurry picture of a afghan girl.as without these images and art then the sense we call passion would have no meaning in many people's eyes.

Anyway stepping aside that i think there's a lot of facts here to say that the tree methods above , canvas printing , artwork and photography have a lot in common. Even though the are performed in a different way they are all looking for the same result and that being perfection.

Photography is the only one i personal haven't tried yet,,, and i say yet because i as an individual likes to try out all types of arts and this type of art interests me allot, i think it would help with allot of understanding about camera lighting picture angles and allot of other photography type things i not too sure of but that's all the fun about learning something new, it's exciting,

Not only that but being an artist painter and printer then I think it would also come in handy so I have some wonderful images to use. As you always come across some brilliant photos online and else were but you just can't us them for printing or painting with due to all these copyright laws everyone seems to have these days so by having your own art from taking your own pictures would be fabulous

Maybe you can tell me your experiences and journey that you have had with artwork and photography. I don't mind if its pictures i.e., photography or painting or even the printing sides of things, even if its something else that you believe has the same type of arty feel the please feel free to express your thoughts.

Get it down in writing - An entrepreneur friend of mine came to me asking for help yesterday. He had invented a new product (which I happen to think is very cool) and hired a graphic designer to prepare a logo for him and some marketing materials. Now that my friend is starting to get some interest from a few major companies, the graphic designer is asking for more money or he won't give up the exclusive rights to use the artwork - which means that he could, if he wanted to, sell the same artwork to competitors of my friend's business. Whenever you hire someone to perform a service or deliver a product make sure you get down in writing that you own whatever results from your working relationship. It cannot be resold or reused by anyone else without your written agreement.

It was a painful lesson that I learnt. [/quote:3m64hpp3] Seems to me that there should be some kind of law here... it should be a "given" - or whatever the legal term is - that whenever someone hires a graphic designer to do a logo or what have you, it's obviously exclusive and should be handed over for the initial payment agreed upon. And if it isn't in writing, whatever happened to verbal contracts? I know there used to be an old saying "Verbal contracts aren't worth the paper htey aren't written on," but there's plenty of precedent in American law these days that says otherwise (not that I'm saying that's a good thing.) But yes, buyers should get things in writing.... but then, so should the providers, also... (the only example of the provider being ripped off I can think of at the moment is the whole Superman fiasco...the two creators of Superman in the 1930s worked on a pay per piece basis, and did well out of it for the monetary reward standards of the day, but when Superman marketing took off and the whole character and his spin offs turned into a multi million dollar business, they received nothing from it. After years of litigation the two poverty-stricken creators were finally awarded about $75,000 each.... some extremely low sum considering the value of their creation... but then, they [i:3m64hpp3]had [/i:3m64hpp3]signed their creation over to others...
eBay update - Kevin, I would wait till the very last minute but that all depends on how badly you want to win isn't it. Just an update, I shared with everyone in the beginning of this thread that the Juicy Couture Bag we was in good condition but smelled like it came from heavy smokers' house. We took to the local dry cleaning place and cost us $40 to get rid of it but it's not completely out and we have been very disappointed with the added cost and its outcome. It's like people who smoke inside vehicle when they maintain their car, they think it should be viewed as in perfection condition to others (it's not), just as it was so described about this bag we bought. We didn't necessarily leave negative comment to the seller because we never asked about it on our end. We learned our lesson the hard way.
